If you have been sharing your b/w selfie with the hashtag , please read.

Though it has spread with the idea of , i'm afraid it's doing the opposite.
I feel very let down and frustrated that someone took on board the 'hot selfie' element of the movement and stripped it from its political context, which probably didn't affect them directly. And now, even celebrities are posting selfies - whilst not even supporting the womxn who started this in the first place.
How have we lost the hashtag ?

Another woman was killed in Turkey by a man who claims to have had a relationship with her. Her name is . Turkish womxn got sick of seeing b/w photos of murdered women appearing in the news, and to raise awareness to the fact that any one of them could appear on those pages the next day, they started this movement.
This protest is directly linked to the fact that Turkey is trying to get out of the which is an international agreement that pretty much saves womxn's lives.

It's your choice if you want to be part of this movement on social media, or if you choose to support womxn off of social media, but if you do share a selfie, please remember to include this information. So that your selfies can at least create momentum about a deadly topic. Otherwise it's just another photo of your face.

well loves, i’m modifying my silent retreat due to unfortunate health complications in my family and the fight for justice that i cannot get out of my head. it simply doesn’t feel right to disconnect from my family at this time or from what is happening particularly in usa and here close to home where wanda is taking her precious time to veto the new civil code. i will continue meditating while remaining aware of these situations, i cannot disconnect fully as I did in my first retreat. i will be postponing that for another occasion and hopefully those who were interested in the idea can join. i’ll take this opportunity to also tell you that silent retreats are available completely free around the world, you can find info at dhamma.org ... i did one a few years ago in taiwan and it was a truly transformative experience. bringing this valuable resource to PR is in my bucket list but right now I just can't do a full withdrawal. i will still try to be more silent in the following days but at the same time available to help my family and ready to defend human rights, as always. EQUAL RIGHTS FOR BLACK PEOPLE, WOMEN, LGBTQ, IMMIGRANTS AND OTHER MINORITIES, NO TO THE NEW CIVIL CODE IN PR, AND YES TO PRISON FOR ALL CORRUPT POLITICIANS AND POLICE.✊✊🏿✊🏾✊🏻✊🏽✊🏼 ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
