From Grief to Growth 🌱

As the sun sank into the Atlantic 2 nights ago, I sat in the place I created for my father here in Portugal.
The cliffs, the wind, the endless horizon, all holding me in their quiet embrace.
I spoke to him without words, and in the stillness, something stirred.

A sense… a knowing… that there is more ahead.
It’s been shimmering inside me for weeks, quietly, like a seed waiting for the right season.

That night, in the golden light, it began to take form.
It grew stronger with every breath, with every sunray stretching out in the sky, as if the light itself was reminding me:

Something is shifting.
Change is coming.
Something is ready to be born.

From this place, where grief meets meaning, and silence meets possibility, something new is taking shape.

It holds the bond between grief and nature, connection and belonging, life and love, release and resilience, and the quiet transformation that comes from integrating it all.

I can’t wait to share it with you.
Stay close… the horizon is getting brighter. 🌅💙

💙 24-04-1949 🤍 12-08-2023

Today marks two years since my father passed away.
In Happinez Magazine, I shared about that intense, pure moment at his bedside in the Netherlands
How I was able to accompany him, together with my family, to the other side.
Grief and gratitude, intertwined.
An experience that shaped me forever.

Since then, I’ve created a place for my father here in Portugal.
High on a cliff…
240° of Atlantic Ocean before me.
The sound of waves breaking.
The salty wind on my skin.
The hills fading softly into the light.
At the end of this day, I will be there.
In silence.
With the elements.
Surrounded by nature that breathes, comforts, and carries.
There, I speak to him without words.

Rituals like these hold a healing power.
They give form to what’s too big to grasp,
open space for grief and love,
and keep the bond alive with those we miss 🤍

🌾This summer, I want to create space for real encounters.

Human to human. Heart to heart.
Not rushed, not transactional - but spacious, honest, and present.

I work in the field of grief, loss, and life transitions.
Rooted in mindfulness and deep listening, I meet people in tender, transformative spaces.

And I see more and more people stepping into this space, each in their own way.
So I’m opening the circle..

✨ Who should I talk to this summer?
✨ Who’s doing work that touches grief, change, love, loss, healing, presence?

I’m not just looking for inspiration.
I’m looking for connection.
And collaboration.
Soft, curious, grounded connection.

📞I’d love to meet - online - in a simple, honest conversation.
To share stories, ideas, questions. To listen to what lives in this field.

Are you this person, or do you know someone?
💌 Tag someone.
💌 DM me.

Because together we carry more than we ever could alone.
Let’s meet
Warmly,
Elisabeth

✨ From Silence to Voice – A Turning Point

These past months have shifted something inside me.
It started with simply showing up online and talking about grief.
Then came an interview in magazine Netherlands, where I spoke about gratitude and the tender goodbye with my father.

And then… I stood on stage at .female.leaders Festival, sharing my voice and story in front of many people – about grief, courage, and what we don’t often say out loud.

💫 What began as a personal journey has grown into a mission:
To make space for grief, for transition, for the unseen and unspoken.
Not just in one country or culture – but in all the places where humans live, lose, love and grow.
This is not an end.
It’s a beginning.

🧡 I’ll be sharing more about my work in the coming weeks – the spaces I create, the people I support, the quiet power of holding space.

Have you ever felt the need to speak something out loud… but didn’t know how? I’m here to listen 💜

99% had experienced grief.
But at work... there was silence.

Exactly one week ago, I stood on stage in front of nearly 200 women, gathered for the .female.leaders Festival on New Leadership.
I spoke about something rarely named, but deeply felt: Grief at Work.

My invitation?
To move towards a new kind of leadership.
One where strength and vulnerability walk side by side.
Where we see each other as human first - also at work.
Where we stay present, even when things get uncomfortable.
I call it: Leadership with Presence.

The response was powerful.
99% had experienced grief.
Many remembered the silence, the awkwardness, the not knowing from their employer.

✨ Do you have the courage to bring grief into the conversation?
To follow the example of and the .female.leaders community?

I invite you to be a role model - and bring grief out of the shadows.
In your workplace, your team, your community.
I’d love to support you.

💬 I work with teams, leaders, organisations and individuals to make grief visible and speakable.
Not to fix it. But to hold it - with knowledge, compassion and care.

Because even amid loss, work can be a place of support.
Let’s shift the culture together.

Grief doesn’t ask for solutions - it asks for presence.

“Mindful Living with the Loss of a Parent”A 3-hour workshop to support your heart through grief.
Have you recently lost a mother or father? Or perhaps it’s been years, but the grief still lives inside you, quiet and unspoken.

This 3-hour workshop is for anyone navigating the deep and complex emotions that come with the death of a parent. Whether your loss is fresh or long-ago, this gathering offers a safe, gentle space to pause, feel, and connect - with yourself and others who understand.

Together, we explore mindful tools to support your grieving process. You’ll learn practices to soften the ache, honor your parent’s memory, and care for yourself with compassion and presence.

Grief has no timeline. There’s no right way to feel. But there is a way to meet it - tenderly, together, in mindfulness.

Sunday June 29th 10.00-13.00
In Harmony: Integrative Health Centre, Lagos

Future sessions of this monthly series will hold space for many other forms of loss.

✨Grief after Birth – an Unseen Reality✨

Last week, I guided a mother–baby healing bath — a deeply restorative ritual where a mother, her baby, and her partner came together to begin healing after a traumatic birth experience.

During the birth in a Portuguese hospital, the mother was mistreated, both physically and emotionally - and was separated from her baby. The father, too, was left feeling powerless and unsafe, emotionally shut out from the process. The shock and sadness left deep marks - on both parents, and their baby.

In the bonding-bath ritual, we invited space.
Space to rewrite their story.
The baby was gently welcomed again - wet, warm, and skin-to-skin on her mother’s chest - in a safe, loving, unhurried environment. With soft words and present hands, that very first contact was re-felt, re-experienced.
No pressure.
No fixing.
Just being.
Not to change the past, but to meet what’s there.

To feel what was stuck, to feel witnessed in the emotion of the trauma, and slowly create space for integration. For each of them - mother, baby, and father. Through safety, presence, and love.

A week later, the mother wrote to me:
“It feels like my body is mine again. Not the doctor’s. She is not the main character in this birth story anymore. But we, my baby, me and my partner - We became the heart and amazing team of this birth story.”

“I feel how my baby finally feels truly safe. She’s found peace. Solid ground beneath her feet to grow from. It’s just beautiful”

These words move me deeply. Because grief can also live in birth - especially when birth is touched by fear, violence, or the loss of autonomy.

🌀 What if we gave space to that, too?
🌀 What if we acknowledged how birth trauma can impact a family’s daily life - bonding, trust, the body?

I’m grateful to do this work. And grateful to share it - so that more people know: healing is possible. Together. In love and presence.

Curious about the mother–baby healing bath or my work around grief after birth? Feel free to message me. ✨

I’ll be talking about Grief. On stage.

On June 20th I’ll have the honour of speaking as a keynote speaker at the New Female Leader Festival, hosted by .female.leaders at the beautiful location of Buitenplaats De Hoorneboeg.

I’m deeply grateful that grief has been given a place on the program about New Leadership.

Because real leadership – the kind that connects, holds and transforms – requires space for both vulnerability and strength.

In my talk, I’ll share how you and we, as a leaders, can truly make a difference when it comes to grief and loss.
Not by fixing, but by being present.

It promises to be a day full of inspiration, with a beautiful line-up, including the powerful voices of and .

Will you join us?
