Little Bali Portugal

Little Bali Portugal Our vision at Little Bali is to cultivate sanctuary where personal healing and nature restoration grow side by side.

🌿 Little Bali Portugal 🌿
Nature getaway in the heart of Portugal ✨
Retreats • Events • Unique stays • Healing and workshops💧
Relax, recharge & come back to yourself 🌈 We see a world where individuals can reconnect with their bodies, minds and spirits through immersive nature experiences- finding balance, resilience and self-compassion along the way. We believe that true wellbeing includes caring for the world around us, so we are committed to nurturing the land through permaculture principles, tree planting, coppicing, and growing fruit and vegetables that nourish both people and planet. We actively support pollinators and work to both protect and enhance the butterfly population, creating thriving ecosystems and habitats.

We hope to create a nurturing space where individuals can gently reconnect with themselves, eachother and the natural world. Through trauma-informed coaching, somatic practices, creative arts , nature immersion and embodied rituals. Through the integration of personal wellbeing and environmental stewardship we envision a space where every visitor leaves feeling restored, inspired and deeply connected.

Art is the Heart of Our Community 🎨🌿

In our little corner of Portugal, art is not just something we do — it’s a way of living.

We truly believe that creation is part of our natural expression. Just like the trees grow toward the sun and the river finds its way through the land, we feel that creativity flows naturally when we give it space.

We love making art together — painting walls, creating mosaics, designing artistic gardens, crafting tiles, building with natural materials, and turning simple recycled objects into something beautiful and meaningful. For us, art is not about perfection. It’s about connection — to ourselves, to each other, and to nature.

All of our spaces are handmade with love. Colors, textures, shapes, and small details are everywhere. Each corner tells a story. Each creation holds the energy of the people who made it.

In our free time, we also gather to make music together — singing, playing instruments, improvising, and letting creativity move through us. These moments are simple, joyful, and real.

We believe art has the power to heal — just like planting trees heals the land. When we create, we bring life back to forgotten spaces, to old materials, and sometimes even to parts of ourselves.

Here, everyone is welcome to explore their creativity. You don’t need to be an “artist.” You just need an open heart and the willingness to try.

We are opening a 21-day “Relax the Soul” program, designed for deep rest, creativity, and reconnection.

This intimate experience includes plenty of time to relax, enjoy, music, create art, and reconnect with yourself and nature. The program is limited to a maximum of 8 participants (not including the people who live on the farm), so we can keep it personal and meaningful.

This program is open to anyone who feels the need for this kind of connection. It is very flexible and will be adapted to match your needs and rhythm. We would truly love to hear from you if this speaks to your heart.

The program cost is adjustable according to your possibilities. We are open to discussing how we can make it accessible for you — please contact us privately for more details. 🌸✨

We're still basking in the glow of Marte Cathrine Bjørndal 's visit! 🙏

Marte is Norwegian artist, yoga teacher and space designer. She spent time with us recently leading her first-ever yoga workshop and rearranging our commune spaces with love and care - in accordance with the bprinciples of Feng Shui.

Her presence was a true blessing, and we're so grateful for the wisdom and energy she shared with us.

Thanks again, Marte, for blessing us with your presence. We can't wait to welcome you back! 🙌

Erasmus exchange student from Italy, Filipo, spent two beautiful weeks with us at Little Bali Portugal before continuing his journey to Belgium, where he’ll be spending the semester. 🌍✨

Filipo brought with him beautiful smiles, youthful energy, curiosity, and a genuine love for learning. Together we made music, built creative projects from waste materials, and cared for nature—sharing moments that reminded us how powerful simple, conscious living can be. 🎶🌱

Thank you for being part of our community, dear Filipo. We can’t wait to welcome you back someday! 💛

How beautiful it is to feel like a child ✨
Playing, imagining, creating with the hands.
Turning old bottles into a recycled wall reminded me that creativity doesn’t need perfection—just curiosity.
A little joy for the soul. ♻️🖤

Earlier today, Norwegian artist, Marte Cathrine Bjørndal interviewed our community member, Gideon Adeyeni - who works mainly on our natural building experiments at the commune - on his interest. Please read the transcript of the interview below.

Interviewer: Here you are working on sustainable housing - or how do you call it? And how did you develop interest in it?

Interviewee: Yes. I studied urban planning. My degrees are primarily in urban planning, with some geography as well. That also meant I studied a bit of architecture, enough to do basic architectural design during my internship and related work.

My research has focused on housing and homelessness, which led me to develop an interest in sustainable housing and building. I now prefer to call it natural building. This approach involves using natural, local materials — materials you can find in your immediate surroundings.

Interviewer: And that’s exactly what you’re doing here — finding materials around you. Stones, for example.

Interviewee: Exactly. We have an abundance of stones here, and also clay. Natural building uses not only local materials but also local skills. Since stone is the material we have most readily available, I’ve been experimenting a lot with stone construction.

Eventually, we’ll also use more earth, wood, and straw bale, but so far our experiments have mainly focused on stone — using it to build sustainable structures.

Interviewer: Many of the older houses around here were built from stone. Are you using the same techniques, or have you made some improvements?

Interviewee: There are some differences. Traditionally, stones were held together with mud. Today, we use cement because it’s accessible and provides greater durability. Structurally, it lasts longer. That’s the main distinction — stone and mud in the past, stone and cement now.

Interviewer: It’s fantastic. It’s really cool to be here. Thank you very much for taking the time for this interview.

Interviewee: Thank you for giving visibility to efforts like this. What you’re doing — highlighting projects like these — contributes to a more sustainable future. I hope we’ll see many more initiatives like this around the world.

Interviewer: Thank you.
Interviewee: Thank you.

Two days ago, we saw the first snowfall in the year 2026 at Little Bali Portugal.
We witnessed it together as a living community devoted to regeneration, healing, and learning how to be in deeper harmony with the Earth and one another.

We welcomed the snow as a pause, a moment of stillness, and a reminder of why we are here.
May this year support the restoration of the land, the healing of old wounds carried by violent systems, and the slow unfolding of more conscious ways of living together.

Witnessing their first snowfall at our commune, Gideon and Silas sat by the fireplace and sang “May It Be” by Enya — as an expression of gratitude, quiet brotherhood, and hope for gentler days ahead. ❄️🔥🎶

🌍✨ In a world where humanity faces a convergence of crises—from the climate emergency to conflicts that leave deep scars—it can feel overwhelming to think about change. Yet, even in the darkest times, hope and action can flourish.

Building an eco-conscious community where we actively care for the planet and for each other is no easy task—but it is a task worth undertaking. Every small action, every hand extended in help, and every effort to live sustainably contributes to a larger movement of healing and resilience.

Let’s come together to nurture the Earth, support one another, and create a space where positive change isn’t just possible—it’s unstoppable. 💚🌱

Over the past year, lovely people from all corners of the world found their way into our community. Together, we planted seedlings and multiplied life, watered the earth and nourished the soil beneath our feet. From what the land offered, we shaped paths and shelters, listening to its quiet guidance.

We painted and laughed, cooked and baked, wandered slowly and ran freely. We swam and sang, watched the sun melt into the horizon, shared meals, shared words, and shared silence.

In all these moments, we walked a path of healing — for the Earth and for ourselves. As a new year begins, we hope to welcome you once more to our beloved Little Bali Portugal, to join hands, restore the land, and continue weaving a conscious community together.

Happy New Year ✨
