Hi friends!

I hope you have had a beautiful summer so far 😊 I don't want to say it too loudly...but summer will soonish be over depending on where you live 🙈 sorry! But that's why I thought it's the perfect time to end the online class summer break and get started with online classes again!

1st class after the summer break on the 1st of September at 17:30 UK time (18:30 Sweden) 🤸‍♂️ EVERYONE is welcome!

I thought of doping a regular Wednesday class and then add a Sunday morning session if there is enough interest. Please let me know and give me some feedback 😊

EEEEEEK 2 posts in one day because I am way too excited about a picture I just took!! 😳🙈🥳 Have you ever taken a picture of you standing? It can be quite surprising to see your own posture - basically the position you inhabit your body habitually day in day out. Have a look at yourself and let yourself be surprised by what you see!
I listed a few things we practice in LYT yoga classes and THIS might give you an idea why I am so in LOVE with this method. It’s not about fancy poses, but about improving the functionality of the body and your body awareness! 😁😁😁 either way I am SO freaking proud of these pups! Ellie just arrived a little over 2 days ago and has already joined 2 of my classes and the three of them are just the best online class companions! So so proud 😍😍

Is your amygdala going crazy?! 🧠😱

The amygdala is a small area of our brain that is part of our limbic system, which is an area that is responsible for our emotional & behavioural responses. It has the vital function of warning us of danger ⛔️
If the amygdala gets a bit over-involved in our lives, however, like for example when there is constant stress or when we struggle with depression or anxiety, the amygdala never keeps quiet and can’t distinguish what should cause us to be tense and stressed and what shouldn’t.
Mindfulness meditation🧘‍♀️ has been shown to create actual changes and in the brain 🧠 which can help calming the amygdala down so that it can do its job when it is needed and we can function calmly when there is no need to worry 😊

Meditation just isn’t for you?! 🥨🧠
Same here! That was my first reaction when my husband played a guided meditation for anxiety relief for me many years ago - I was ranting about how stupid this is and that I am not a hippie like that and that there is no golden light shining from my third eye god damn it!!
Well...I guess I have developed my understanding a bit since then 😉😁
Mindfulness & meditation don’t require anyone to identify as a yogi, hippie, religious person; it doesn’t require you to own or even like crystals or to be capable of getting your legs into a pretzel shape 🥨
When we shake all preconceived ideas off and look at it a bit more objectively, mindfulness practice & meditation can actually be super beneficial and take all sorts of shapes and forms. What it aims at is to create the capacity to not always be entangled in the input from the outside world and/or your own thoughts. The capacity to step away from all the stress the body generates based on the never ending thought streams in our minds.

Hello online yoga world!!
I am not going to lie, I was NERVOUS! It’s not that easy to speak into a camera and see yourself on screen, being educational, clear & entertaining enough to make you forget that we are not in the same room - online classes are hard work! And they bring both students and teachers out of their comfort zones. 🙃
But it is also a huge amount of fun to spend this time together, sharing our homes, see each other’s dogs and cats and children crashing the yoga party and create the most comfortable learning and movement environment through an internet connection.
I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did! 🤗
This was a class I taught for the studio I work with, but there is lots more to come soon for all of you who aren’t affiliated with the studio. I can’t wait to get over my camera-shyness with you 🧡🤸‍♀️
