This Sunday (27 July) we practice Kundalini Yoga together on zoom.

Meeting online enables an easier fit into your schedule, saving time, effort & cost in traveling to a studio.

Kundalini Yoga (KY) works on many levels. The body, yes.
But in KY there are 10 bodies (or layers) to balance and activate!
So what are they?

1. Soul Body gives humility, your best friend
2. Negative Mind gives obedience, protection
3. Positive Mind gives equality, advantages
4. Neutral Mind gives service, intuitive knowledge
5. Physical Body gives self-sacrifice, avoiding extremes, participating fully
6. Arc-Line gives justice, a protective halo
7. Aura gives mercy, an electromagnetic field enabling interactive charge inwards and outwards to others
8. Pranic Body gives purity, controlling breath, prana, life force gives courage mental control & healing power
9. Subtle Body gives calmness, understanding & mastering the subtles of life
10. Radiant Body gives courage in the face of any obstacle, emits charisma, Á shining presence.

The 11th can be known as Union Body, the container of all 10 bodies. It’s represented as your sound current.

This is polished and experienced through chanting, or any practiced sound.
Your unique sound current is needing to be heard. No one current is the same, so all voices are welcomed.
It’s the vibrational basis of your existence. It plays perfectly when humanity & divinity become one.

THE FIVE KOSHAS (Pancha Koshas)
are 5 bodies, sheaths or layers that cover the Atman (true self). These are each made of increasingly finer grades of energy.

India’s ancient yogis developed specific exercises to strengthen and tone each one of these layers in turn. There are such varieties of yoga techniques and the effects sometimes may be out of our awareness!

Physical Body: Anna-Maya-Kosha.
All bodily tissues and organs can be toned through yoga asana.

(Pranic) Energy Body: Prana-Maya-Kosha.
Pranayamas focus on flowing prana (life force) within the nadi channels are purified through yoga.

Mental Body: Mano-Maya-Kosha.
Pratyahara (sensory withdrawal) leading into meditation, provides an excellent inner tune-up for this mind layer.

Wisdom Body: Vijana-Maya-Kosha.
Our yogic choices and lifestyle (ways of being in the world), our contemplation and meditation lead to clarity of judgment, greater intuitive insight, and increased willpower as this layer grows stronger and more balanced.

(Spiritual) Bliss Body : Ananda-Maya-Kosha.
The thinnest veil standing between our ordinary awareness and our higher Self. Three practices assist:
1. Seva, selfless service, opening our innate unity with other beings.
2. Bhakti yoga, devotion to all-pervading divine being (Universal Source, God).
3. Samadhi, intensely focused meditation, opening us to our own divine being.

ATMAN : Individual Highest Self, Pure Consciousness, Spirit

These fabrics of existence are personal and unique.

We will explore these layered connections within our Yin Yoga and
Yoga Nidra practice TONIGHT (Thurs 4 July).

I am a foody for fighting the seasonal bugs. I have had great results from this garlic soup recipe because of the benefits of garlic plus the addition of the fresh herb thyme bringing good health to the airways, sinuses, and chest.

I fiddle the recipe to my liking and cupboard stores… you might add a sweet potato along with the white potato. You might omit cream and cheese. It still will bring you medicinal magic to your body and kick those germs out of your system.

Remember to remove the lemon slice and thyme stems before blending the soup. I also roasted the white potato chunks to use as a crouton at time of serving up.

Can you do some form of yoga everyday for the whole of 2025?

Each day you complete a practice (remember that it’s not just asana/ posture), you can colour in a leaf of your Tree of Yoga.

Daily Yoga practices could also include :
Meditation, eg: yoga nidra, guided, silent, journaling, mantra, chanting.
