It's plant thursday!

Presenting today, a botanical VIP when it comes to women hormones 😎: Black cohosh 🌿!

Black cohosh, or Actaea racemosa (or Cimicifuga racemosa) has a long history of traditional use among Native American populations . Native American tribes, particularly those in the eastern parts of North America, such as the Cherokee and the Algonquin, were among the first to use black cohosh for medicinal purposes.
The plant's rhizomes and roots were valued for their potential therapeutic properties.
As European settlers arrived in North America👩‍🌾, they learned about the traditional uses of black cohosh from Native Americans and gradually adopted it into their own folk medicine practices🌱. In the 19th century, black cohosh gained popularity in conventional medicine in the United States and Europe for treating women's health issues:
🙏Hormonal Regulation: Black cohosh is believed to have an impact on hormonal balance, particularly in relation to estrogen. Though it does not classify as a Phyto-estrogenic plant, it does regulate estrogen level and has a protective action against breast cancer at low or medium dosage.

💪Menstrual Cycle Support: Black cohosh can be used to address irregular menstrual cycles and menstrual discomfort.

😏Mood Stabilization: Black cohosh has been explored for its potential mood-stabilizing effects, making it a consideration for women experiencing mood swings or irritability during menopause.

👩‍⚕️Gynecological Concerns: In traditional medicine, black cohosh has been used for various gynecological issues, including addressing symptoms associated with premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and uterine spasms.

We asked AI image generators to paint the image with the description "women suffering from premenstrual syndrome" we got blocked everywhere as premenstrual and even menstrual words are considered sexual and violent. Same when we put the image "woman riding a giant bloody tampon" to describe Menorrhagia and we got the same "policy violation" message on 5 different platforms including Midjourney.cl , and DeepAI.space. Premenstrual syndrome is a hormonal disease and menstrual matters should never be consider as nudity or sexual, it's normal and half the population is concerned.
Meanwhile, to test the extent of their bias, we put the word "murder" on MidJourney and the engine came up with very grue-some pictures we cannot show here. Playing around we managed to get this depiction of PMS from Mid-journey. What do you think? Which one do you relate to the most? Share your comments!

Do you know the n°1 plant when it comes to fight PMS?🌼
Vitex, or Chaste Tree, works by influencing the hormonal balance in the body, The key mechanism of action is through its impact on the pituitary gland, which plays a crucial role in regulating hormone production. Here's a simplified explanation of how Vitex works:

1- Pituitary Gland Regulation🔧 : Vitex has an effect on the hypothalamus and pituitary gland, which are responsible for producing and regulating various hormones, including those related to the menstrual cycle.

2- Luteinizing Hormone (LH) Regulation 🛠: Vitex is thought to increase the secretion of luteinizing hormone (LH) while inhibiting the release of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). This shift in hormone levels can contribute to a rebalancing of estrogen and progesterone levels in the body.

3- Progestogenic Effect 🌷: Vitex is believed to have a progestogenic effect, promoting the production of progesterone. Progesterone is crucial for the second half of the menstrual cycle (luteal phase) and helps to counterbalance the effects of estrogen variation.

4- Normalization of Menstrual Cycle⏳ : By modulating these hormonal pathways, Vitex is thought to help regulate the menstrual cycle, making it more predictable and potentially reducing symptoms associated with hormonal imbalances, such as PMS.

☕ Harnessing the power of Vitex, also known as Chaste Tree, our tea Rescue features 3 other plants allies of the feminine cycle 🌻🌺 🌹(follow the next Plant Thursdays!) and is designed to reduce effectively psychological and physiological PMS/PMDD symptoms bringing you back to equilibrium and peace.
