Research Group of Health Promotion and Chronic Diseases Research group of health promotion and chronic diseases The molecular mechanisms of carcinogenesis, specifically gene mutations are also our field of study.

We have been working in the last 10 years in:
1- the field of oncology, mainly in breast cancer and schistosomiasis-associated bladder cancer. Our work has been focused on studying signaling pathways of cancer and cancer phenotypes like proliferation, apoptosis, migration, invasion and angiogenesis. We are currently researching the effects of schistosoma-derived estrogenic molecules on cell lines and the accumulation and biodistribution of these molecules in animal models, and their possible carcinogenic effect.

2- Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics of chronic diseases (autoimmunity, rheumatic, pulmonary and neurologic diseases, viral infections and cancer)
