How Stress & Sleep Impact Your Metabolism

Did you know that stress and poor sleep can slow down your fat loss efforts—no matter how clean your diet is?

When you’re stressed, your body releases cortisol, a hormone that triggers fat storage (especially around the belly) and increases cravings for sugary, high-carb foods. Chronic stress can also lead to muscle breakdown, making it harder to build a lean, strong body.

On top of that, poor sleep disrupts your metabolism, slowing down calorie burn and increasing hunger hormones like ghrelin, which makes you crave junk food. Quality sleep helps your body recover, balance hormones, and keep your metabolism running efficiently.

✨ 3 Tips to Improve Sleep & Manage Stress:
1️⃣ Create a wind-down routine – Turn off screens 1 hour before bed, dim the lights, and try reading or journaling to relax.
2️⃣ Practice deep breathing or meditation – Just a few minutes of slow, deep breaths can lower cortisol and help you feel calmer.
3️⃣ Get morning sunlight – Natural light in the morning helps regulate your body’s sleep-wake cycle, making it easier to fall asleep at night.
