Please sign our petition!

Our favourite swimmingspot just below the Quinta is in danger. Where many of you enjoyed swimming and jumping.
There are plans to build a dam. We are doing everything we can to prevent it. We started a petition online and are at every market in the area collecting signatures on paper. Can you please sign? You have to fill in full name and the number of passport or ID.

We are having a different summer this year. No holiday guests but long term rentals. We welcomed a lovely family in Tres Tulips. They bring new energy and skills to the Quinta. We now do yoga twice a week and a new vegetable garden is in the make using permaculture principles. Inspiring and fun!
The kids enjoy swimming lessons in the pool and when we want to cool down even more we got to the river.
We met nice new people in our neighbour village who are setting up an Ayurvedic retreat place with yoga, massage and cooking classes. We enjoyed a Ayurvedic workshop and meal there Casa Vayu - House of Movement - Planet Ohm.

During the lockdown we had some lovely people staying with us for months. We had some nice party's together. We celebrated the opening of our outdoor kitchen in the forest with a mexican lunch. The first pizza party of the year was also a succes. We are ready for summer!

Our lovely caravan is available for rent from the half of June. Come for a week or stay longer! ( Our recent guests stayed for 2,5 months and loved it.) If you want to stay in the middle of nature and enjoy the birds sing, go swimming in our pool or walk down to the river for a refreshing dip, this is the place for you! Take a look on our website.

New perspectives.

The fun of having people stay for a long time is that they see and use the land differently and in new fun ways. We now have a campsite! Because of Corona our guests stayed for much longer than planned and decided to do a spring retreat. Getting up early, yoga in the yurt, sunrise on the terrace, a plant diet and ceremonies. Sleeping alone in tents and all in silence for 10 days. 7 participants 7 nationalities. A meditative journey. Sunday they finished and we celebrate with a dinner in the sun. 🙏🌞

Spring is so amazing. All these flowers! Roses all around and the smell is wonderfull. Last week a lady from the village visited us at the Fontanheira. She stayed here with her grandparents when she was a girl 70 years ago. She shared great memories with us and told us this pink rose is over 120 years old! She comes back every year one time to enjoy it. ❤️💚 Power of nature.

We feel very lucky that in these strange times we have a yoga teacher staying with us. And a lovely yurt to practice in. After lessons for the adults she took the challenge to create a kids yoga class. We had so much fun and the space of the yurt is already so inviting to play! The youngest participant was 1,5. The parents were monkeys, elefants and lions and the kids loved it. Hope everybody is staying happy & healthy!

Today is Palm sunday. Domingo dos Ramos. Traditionally there is a procession through our village where the palmbranches are blessed. Not today. We made our own branches with Olive, Bay leaves, willow and Rosemary and brought one to the village shop/cafe. Happy sunday everybody! 💚

The last weeks we had great fun doing a grand make over on this caravan. It turned into a great spot to stay and we never expected we would alreay welcome our first guests now. Check it out.

This lovely caravan is getting a make over! We are working hard to make it into a very cozy place to stay with a nice outdoor kitchen. Together with our friends Marianne en Sam we now have professional builders on the Quinta. 💪🛠🌞
