I’ll be holding a small men’s gathering in Lisbon in two days - 20th at 7pm.

A few hours set aside to slow down, step out of the noise, and connect — with yourself and with other men.

This is not a workshop.
Not therapy.
Not a place to perform.

Just a simple and grounded space to:

– talk honestly
– listen without needing to fix
– reflect on what’s actually going on in your life
– reconnect with a sense of clarity and calm

We’ll sit together, share what’s present, and include a short, simple meditation to settle the body and mind.

Nothing complicated.
Just real.

If you’ve been feeling the need to pause, breathe, or have more honest conversations — this might be for you.

While in Melbourne I had the opportunity to spend time with the team at The Man Cave.

They work with teenage boys in schools across Australia, creating spaces where young men can talk about things that are often left unsaid.

Emotions.
Pressure.
Identity.
Friendship.
Expectations.

Discussing their programs reminded me of something important.

Many boys grow up being taught how to compete, succeed, and endure.
But far fewer are given the tools to understand what they feel or how to speak honestly about it.

What The Man Cave is doing is creating environments where boys can pause and explore who they are becoming beyond the usual stereotypes of masculinity.

If we want healthier men in the future, these conversations need to start earlier.

It was inspiring to witness this work up close.

Encounters like this remind me that the future of masculinity will not be shaped by ideas alone — but by the spaces we create for boys and men to grow.

During my time in Sydney, I had the privilege of sitting down with Raewyn Connell.

Our conversation began with something simple: how she first entered the field of studying masculinities.

At the time, it was not a common academic path. Yet what began as curiosity gradually grew into decades of work that helped shape the global conversation about men, gender, and power.

Listening to her speak about that journey was fascinating. Not only because of the ideas, but because of the way she described how transformative this work has been for her own life.

Studying masculinities, she said in different ways throughout the conversation, is not just an intellectual exercise. It changes how you see the world, relationships, institutions, and the social expectations placed on men.

We also spoke about something that feels particularly important to me: the bridge between research and practice.

The theories developed in universities matter. But they become truly alive when they meet the lived experiences of men in communities, workshops, and conversations.

The meeting itself was incredibly generous. I left with new insights, a longer reading list — including authors like Bob Pease and Henry Lawson — and even a few recommendations for bookstores around Sydney where I can spend hours exploring these ideas further.

Some conversations stay with you long after they end.

This was one of them.

🔥 Men’s Gathering – [7/2/2026] 🔥
How Do We Move Through the World as Men?

This gathering, Mind And Gap collaborates with Chris, a trauma-informed mindfulness facilitator, for an exploration of embodied masculinity - how we’ve been taught to suppress movement, playfulness, and authentic expression, and what happens when we reclaim it.

What to expect:
- Group reflection & embodied practices - walking meditation, partner work
- Movement practice with music - to move, stay still, and what you actually need
- Communal lunch - bring food for 2 to share

📍 [São Luís]
🗓️ [7/2/2026, 9 am - 1 pm, followed by lunch]

A space for men who want to
- explore authentic movement beyond performance and
- practice taking up space in a trusted community

Ready to close the year with intention?

I’ve put together a “Year Review” framework specifically for those ready to move past the surface. It’s a tool to help you bridge the gap between where you are and where you want to be in 2026.
I’m sending it out to anyone who wants to do the work.

How to get it:

No strings, just a gift to help you start your next chapter with clarity. 👊

This isn’t a staged photo.
This was a moment captured during our “Tender Masculinities” workshop at the Berlin Festival this past November.
For a lot of the men in that room, it was the first time in years—maybe decades—they felt they had permission to drop the armor, feel the softness. We’re taught that being a man means being a pillar: solid, unmoving, and usually, alone.
But in Berlin, we saw what happens when you bridge the gap. We saw that “tenderness” isn’t a weakness; it’s the bridge to the kind of brotherhood that actually sustains you when life gets heavy.
The connections you need for growth are already scheduled. You just have to show up for them.

Stop waiting. Start connecting. Join the movement at the link in our bio.
