In Loving Memory of Jahmby Koikai – A Voice for Endometriosis
The end of is near, but the fight is far from over.
This month, we remember a woman who turned her personal battle into a public movement—Mary Njambi Koikai, affectionately known as or “Fyah Mummah.”
She was one of the few African voices who boldly spoke up about endometriosis—breaking the silence, educating a continent, and demanding dignity for all menstruating bodies. Endometriosis—a disease that caused her immense suffering and ultimately took her life in June 2024 at just 38 years old. But Even in pain, she led with fire, truth, and purpose.
At LUNA, we honor her legacy by continuing to raise awareness, offer care, and remind every woman: period pain is not normal.
Rest in power, Jahmby. We carry your light forward.
