World AIDS Day is a reminder that HIV is still a global health challenge — but one we have the power to overcome through awareness, testing, treatment, and compassion. Today, we emphasise the importance of regular HIV testing, because early diagnosis allows individuals to begin treatment early and reduce transmission.
Modern HIV treatment can suppress the virus to “undetectable” levels, meaning Undetectable = Untransmittable (U=U). Alongside medical progress, we must tackle stigma, which remains one of the biggest barriers to people seeking care. Let’s create a world where education replaces fear, and support replaces shame.
