Sudan Journal of Medical Sciences SJMS is indexed in Scopus and the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI). We invite you to join our team as an Editor or Reviewer.

Sudan JMS is published every three months. Scientific papers dealing with different aspects of medical sciences and written in English are welcomed. Sudan JMS publishes peer-reviewed original articles, case reports, review articles, Letter to the Editor and commentaries. Sudan JMS encourage medical research among the increasing staff of the wide-spread colleges of medicine in this country. Sudan JMS will reserve a space for articles from other diversities of the medical profession. These articles could be written by administrators, pharmacists, medical officers in remote areas, technicians, nursing staff, nutrition specialists or other paramedical personnel after the judgement of Sudan JMS editorial board. Advertisements from medical teaching institutions, hospitals, medical conferences, and pharmaceutical companies are welcomed. To minimize the delay between submission and publication, authors are requested to follow carefully the instructions set out by the journal.

To all respected Colleagues

The Editor-in-Chief of the Sudan Journal of Medical Sciences (SJMS) invites you to contribute significantly to the field by submitting a manuscript for potential inclusion in a special issue titled:

"Sudanese Traditional Medicine: Past and Present Practices and Healing."

Your research and insights are highly valued, and we look forward to their impact on this issue, scheduled for publication in June 2025.

This special issue presents a unique opportunity for knowledge exchange and collaboration. It aims to explore the cultural theories, heritage, beliefs, and experiences associated with the diverse practices of traditional medicine in Sudan, providing a platform for rich academic discourse and learning. It will also offer a chance to understand the inclusion of traditional and herbal medicine in the maintenance of health and healing approaches as alternative and complementary therapies by providing a scientific guide for bridging traditional medicine and herbal remedies and their integration into modern medical practice using randomized controlled trials and other innovative research methods.
