Welcome to Stockholm
We are delighted to welcome you to Stockholm, the beautiful capital of Sweden! The beautiful preserved buildings of the Old Town, the greenery, the fresh air and the proximity to water are distinctive traits of this city. The Royal National City Park – the first National City Park in the world – is a green space that offers a welcome escape from the rush of the capital. With its 750-year history and rich cultural life, Stockholm offers a wide selection of world-class museums and attractions. Most of the city’s attractions can be reached on foot, but public transportation is smooth and efficient. A visit to Sweden at Midsummer time is especially pleasant, as the nights are long, warm and bright due to the characteristic Northern light. The Annual EFI Congress
Over the years the Annual EFI Congress has attracted delegates from all over the world. This meeting will cover a broad range of topics from basic to clinical science. We will have plenary sessions on new cell therapies, NK cells, tolerance, immune modulation, autoimmunity and new concepts in solid organ transplantation. We will also have teaching sessions about Next Generation Sequencing, Clinical Chimerism analysis, NK cell biology and the role of antibody testing in solid organ transplantation. Oral and poster sessions will cover more than 10 different topics. The Stockholm Waterfront Congress Centre is located in the heart of Stockholm, with easy access to restaurants, hotels, shopping and sights. The Arlanda Express (airport shuttle) and the subway (T-bana) are reached by escalators next to the venue. The welcome reception, hosted by the City of Stockholm, will be held at the City Hall, also known to be the venue for the Nobel Prize Dinner. You will have the opportunity to enjoy the Blue and the Golden Halls, an experience you will share with many Nobel laureates over the years. The Gala dinner will be at The Brewery (Münchenbryggeriet) in a building that is a characteristic element of the skyline of Stockholm. More than 100 years of beer production ended there in 1971. Since then the Brewery has functioned as an event venue. We expect a long evening with music and dancing, in the bright summer night. We are looking forward to seeing you in Stockholm!
