✨ Closing a Chapter, Opening Another ✨
After more than 7 years, I am closing Solace Art Psychotherapy.
This journey has been filled with challenges, steep growth, and countless lessons. Running Solace has stretched me in every direction — as a therapist, a manager, a marketer, a speaker, and an entrepreneur. From people management, HR, and social media, to pitching proposals, networking, hosting an art exhibition, publishing an arts-based resource book, and presenting at international conferences — Solace has been my biggest classroom.
The road was not always easy. I went into a dark space at one point — overwhelmed by stress and the weight of too many responsibilities. I lost my light. But through that darkness, I discovered the importance of self-care. By creating and honouring my own self-care strategies, I slowly found my way back to the light. These practices continue to guide me today, and they remind me that healing is an ongoing journey, even for therapists.
I’ve also had my resilience tested in other ways — from organisations using my proposals without permission, to people borrowing my content without giving credit. These moments, though difficult, strengthened me and reminded me that “imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.”
What I am most grateful for is the space Solace gave me to develop a trauma-informed structure that became the heart of my practice. It allowed me to walk alongside clients in their most vulnerable moments and to witness healing in its rawest form. For that, I will always carry Solace with me.
Goodbyes, I’ve learned, are simply doorways to new beginnings.
I leave Solace feeling proud, thankful, and deeply enriched by the many clients and therapists who shaped me into the practitioner I am today.
🌱 On 3 September 2025, I begin a new chapter as Senior Art Therapist at Singapore General Hospital (SGH). I look forward to another season of steep learning, new challenges, and meaningful growth.
Here’s to endings that open into beginnings. 🩵
