Hi all, we launched episode two of our "a walk with..." series today.
This time featuring Stacey who grew up with a mom who experienced schizophrenia, which led to violent tendencies too.
This video documents her childhood experiences, and the experiences that helped her to heal from her lost childhood. Thank you so much to Stacey for sharing your wonderful story with the world :)
And to you out there who also lost your childhood, know that you're not alone.
You deserve healing too.
Don't struggle alone okay?

I'm gradually building a morning walk routine, while my progress is slow, I think itโs better than nothing.
My favourite place to go is a park near my house. I'd climb up that little hill and listen to the cicadas.
There is a serene area to practice some mindful walks. Then I'd sit on a bench, do some stretches and start to relax with some deep breathing exercises. I'm still getting used to meditating in a public place.
Today, a cute little dog said hello to me which made me happy. I also saw someone doing Yoga with her own mat which is a good idea.
After that, I decided to try the exercise equipment which felt like a solid workout! I thought it was a good idea for me to get more movements in my day.
I'm grateful for this beautiful park and I look forward to going there again.
Your friend,
Ros

When reality slaps us hard and leaves us reeling, self-compassion is our greatest ally.
Two steps we can try when this happens:
1. Acknowledge our pain, and
2. โ Respond with kindness.
Treating ourselves kindly doesnโt magically resolve or make our problems disappear/go away...
But what it does is that it ๐ฒ๐
๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ๐ ๐ผ๐๐ฟ ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ถ๐๐ ๐๐ผ ๐ฐ๐ผ๐ฝ๐ฒ more effectively with all those problems, along with the pain that life just dumped on us.
And in case youโre not sure where to start, slowing down and noticing where you are and what youโre doing is already an act of kindness.
And itโs something you can do right now, right this very moment too :)
So, ask yourself, what are you going through right now?
And can you offer yourself some kindness instead?
Take care,
Elicia
