Training with Renzo Young

Training with Renzo Young Looking for a trainer to help you meet your fitness goals? From there I pursued a diploma in Sports and Wellness to learn more. One size doesn’t fit all.

Drop me an email and we can work out (pun intended) at any location, be it your nearby park, condo gym or an exclusive private gym in Clark quay. Being curious of how everyone develops differently – from physique to sports performance, I found an interest in sports and fitness. In the end I found myself asking more questions and the desire for learning only grew bigger. But one point holds true an

d constant in all the fitness and wellness courses.

“You’ve only got one body to live in. Take care of it and live well.”

Having experience as group class trainer for 5 years, I have learnt one other thing. Most individuals require specialized training programs specific to their needs, every client is an individual project. Learning never stops.

This is why I love my job. May I introduce another successful client - Shaun. Do take a moment to hear what he has to say:

"Previously, I was unsure of how much exercise I could do and how far I could push myself in fear of triggering a heart attack due to a rare condition I have called Prinzmetal Angina. I had reached out to other PTs in the past but I was rejected due to my condition.

Renzo was different, he did a lot of his own research and agreed to take me on. While keeping within the training intensities recommended by my doctor, we achieved my target weight of under 100kg, improved my blood test results and it reports no more fatty liver.

I also gained the confidence to train properly, and it allowed me to even train on my own with Renzo's advice. I'm thankful to Renzo for his dedication and guidance towards my health"

DM me to allow me to help you improve your quality of life!

For the science people, long read ahead:

➡️Key findings
• Air-frying can raise or lower acrylamide depending on temperature and time.
• Above ≈ 180 °C and with long cycles, levels climb steeply.
• Most potatoes, thin chips, and asparagine-rich legumes are highest-risk foods.
• In well-controlled trials, air-frying cut acrylamide by up to 85 %, but some home-use studies showed increases.
• Typical air-fryer values: 10 – 180 µg kg⁻¹ (EU benchmark for fries = 500 µg kg⁻¹).

➡️ Health context
Acrylamide is a “probable human carcinogen”. No clear link at normal dietary doses, but regulators advise ALARA – keep exposure As Low As Reasonably Achievable.

➡️Practical ways to keep it low
1. Soak or rinse potato strips 5–10 min, then pat dry.
2. Cook at ≤ 180 °C; shake basket; stop when chips are pale-gold, not brown.
3. Avoid adding sugar or honey glazes.
4. Herbs/acidic marinades (e.g. rosemary, lemon) can cut acrylamide further.

Shaun has a very rare heart condition - Prinzmetal angina and it had affected his ability to exercise for weight management and general health. But he was also very motivated to engage in a healthy lifestyle.

"I was unsure of how much exercise I could take and how far I could push in fear of triggering a heart attack. While keeping within the training intensities recommended by my doctor, we achieved my target weight of under 100kg, improved my blood test results and I no longer have fatty liver. I now have the confidence to train properly, gaining the strength to lift up to 1.6x my body weight, living the lifestyle I envisioned. And of course, it feels great to be strong. " Shaun Lai

Let me help you achieve that healthy lifestyle you want. We only got one body, train safe, train hard and live well.
