⚠️ Did you know that obesity is on the rise in Singapore?
According to the National Population Health Survey jointly conducted by the Ministry of Health and Health Promotion Board in 2022, 11.6% of Singapore residents aged between 18 to 74 years are reported to be suffering from obesity. This has superseded the previous prevalence of 10.5% seen in 2010 and 2019 - 2020.

As we acknowledge World Obesity Day globally, let's also recognise the local implications and work together to address the rising tide of obesity in Singapore. By understanding the factors contributing to this health challenge, we can take proactive steps towards a future where health and well-being thrive 💪🏻

❗Ranking 4th as the leading cause of cancer deaths worldwide, stomach cancer claims between 300 to 500 lives in Singapore every year.

Despite it's deadly nature, stomach cancer doesn't always cause symptoms during its early stages, and two-thirds of stomach cancer patients receive a diagnosis only in the advanced stages, thus reducing their chances of recovery.

It is crucial to have regular checks for stomach cancer via endoscopy, as early detection can significantly improve treatment outcomes and survival rates. 📈

Stomach Cancer is diagnosed when there is an abnormal growth of cells in the stomach. This form of cancer often progresses slowly, and symptoms may not be apparent in the early stages.

However, as the disease advances, individuals may experience symptoms such as:
✅ Heartburn
✅ Difficulty swallowing
✅ Unintentional weight loss
✅ Feeling full after consuming small amount of food
✅ Not feeling hungry when you would expect to be hungry

It is crucial to consult a healthcare professional if any of these symptoms persist as early detection improves the chances of successful treatment.
