We all remember what it was like to face up with puberty and experiencing new emotions which we never have felt as a child.

As we grow up into adulthood, we soon realise that we no longer experience a single emotion on it's own. Many times it is a mixture and whirlwind of every emotion at once, leaving us confused and distraught. This leads us to then act in a certain way towards ourselves and others, and this is how we affect other people's emotions, too.

If our emotions indeed can come alive, do know that they are doing all they can to protect us. So if you find yourself experiencing all these emotions, embrace them. Take a deep breath and be aware of what your emotion is trying to tell you. Activate your brain to make sense of this and take responsible actions. You don't need to ignore your emotions - even the ones that make you feel real bad. Embrace all of them... Dance with your emotions. Because they make you... YOU! 😍

Donuts, anyone? 🍩🍩🍩

Does your mouth water each time you stare at those honey-glazed, whipped cream and sweet toppings donuts at the donut shops? Do you know that each donut carries about 200-450 calories on it's own... Not to mention the crazy amounts of sugar and fat content? 😱

Made my own donuts today - from fresh apples! 🍎😊 I spread some healthier-choice peanut butter and granola bits for toppings. It tastes super duper good and I am surprisingly full with only 2 slices of these "donuts"!

And the calories? It is more or less about 100 calories for that 2 slices. Not forgetting that you are getting in good amounts of fibre and protein for your body, too!
So guys, the next time you feel like getting a sinful donut, grab an apple instead and spread some healthy peanut butter and sprinkle some nuts on it πŸ˜‰ You've got yourself a crunchy flavourful donut right there!

What is Mindful Eating?

When you eat mindfully, you become more aware of your internal signals of hunger and fullness – you are listening to your body.

Mindful eating means slowing yourself down and taking the time to appreciate how the food looks on the plate, how it smells, and how it tastes. It means being fully present in the experience of eating, and putting aside all distractions (esp your handphone, Netflix, etc) while you eat.

The other benefit? By slowing down, you’ll learn to be satisfied with appropriate portions – which will help curb the tendency to overeat – and your digestive system won’t be overburdened. Not only will this help keep your calories in check, but it gives your system time to properly digest your meal, too.
