Healthy longevity at the G7 .
Across the G7, there is alignment that global , , and are inseparable. The One Health approach, grounded in the Paris Climate Agreement, emphasises independent science, protected from political pressure, and implemented through accountable systems.
Hosted under the French G7 presidency, the summit brought together heads of state, ministers, multilateral organisations including the World Health Organization and World Bank, alongside scientists, clinicians, industry leaders, and public health agencies.
Key priorities discussed included:
• Strengthening the authority and legitimacy of the World Health Organization in guiding global health responses
• Strengthening country-level implementation, supported by institutions such as the World Bank
• Addressing antimicrobial resistance through stewardship and coordinated policy
• Building global data infrastructure and enabling responsible data sharing
• Aligning climate negotiations with health outcomes
Prof. Andrea Maier contributed to discussions in this context, where healthy longevity medicine, ageing biology, prevention, and system-level approaches were part of the broader agenda.
These discussions reflect a growing focus on how ageing biology and prevention are becoming more relevant within broader global health systems.
