💥The science of chanting / mantra meditation
The mahā-mantra, composed of three sacred words—Hare, Kṛṣṇa, and Rāma—differs from material affirmations prevalent in the new age movement. Unlike affirmations like "I am aligned with the highest frequency of love" or "I deserve financial freedom," these words are not material; they hold a profound spiritual significance.
God, Kṛṣṇa, is non different from His names. Hence when chanting the mahā-mantra we are in His direct association.
In our material world, merely crying out "Water! Water! Water!" will not quench our thirst, as the word "water" and the substance itself are distinctly separate. However, in the spiritual realm, such a distinction ceases to exist. There, an object and its name, or a person and his name, are one. By vibrating the holy name of God, we establish a direct connection with Him, elevating ourselves to the spiritual platform. Unlike in the relative world, where a person's name and the person are separate, when we chant the Mahā-Mantra, God is truly present before us, although imperceptible to our limited material senses.
Kṛṣṇa is always blissful, full of knowledge and eternal. He is full of wealth, power, fame, beauty, knowledge and renunciation. He has many more qualities.. So how can one remain disturbed in His association? In His association, disturbance vanishes, for Kṛṣṇa embodies the highest, most blissful energy. He is the essence of unconditional love and boundless joy. Being in His presence, the mind finds tranquility.
As Śrīla Prabhupāda says:
This chanting of
Hare Kṛṣṇa Hare Kṛṣṇa
Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa Hare Hare
Hare Rāma Hare Rāma
Rāma RāmaHare Hare
is directly enacted from the spiritual platform, and thus this sound vibration surpasses all lower strata of consciousness
