💪 If you are in your 40s or 50s and want to stay sharp into your 60s, the habits you build now matter more than you might think. Your performance over time depends not only on experience and knowledge, but also on how well you take care of your body and mind.

✔️ Regular cardiovascular training helps maintain endurance and supports long-term heart health.
✔️ Strength training twice a week can help you preserve muscle and power as you age.
✔️ Functional movement keeps your body capable and resilient in everyday life.

Activities that challenge balance, coordination, and reaction time can also support how your brain and body work together. For example, sports like tennis and football train these abilities.

🏗️ When you manage a construction company, you know that everyday risks are part of the job, from working at heights to handling heavy equipment on site. Even with strict safety measures, accidents can still happen. WICA insurance is mandatory in Singapore, and employers must provide this policy for all their manual workers, as well as for those earning S$2,600 or less per month. If you fail to secure it, you will face a fine of up to S$10,000 or up to 12 months in jail, or both.

Work Injury Compensation Insurance covers medical expenses, including hospitalization and surgical costs, as well as medical leave wages and compensation for loss of earnings. Additionally, it provides financial support in cases of permanent incapacity resulting from work-related injuries or diseases.

🚀 Own a business in Singapore? Read this 👇

As of mid-2025, Singapore’s total population was 6.11 million, of whom about 1.91 million were foreign workers, accounting for roughly 31.2% of the population. Most foreign workers are employed across the construction, marine shipyard, and processing sectors, as well as domestic helpers (Kok, 2025).

If you hire foreign workers on Work Permits or S Passes in Singapore, you must provide them with Foreign Worker Medical Insurance. Beyond meeting legal requirements, it also helps you avoid unexpected medical costs and allows your workers to receive proper health care, which supports their productivity and reflects positively on your business.

Foreign Worker Health Insurance arranged through IPG meets MOM requirements and provides coverage of S$60,000, including hospitalisation, surgical fees, ICU care, and in-hospital physician visits.

⏳The idea that everyone should retire at a certain age (which varies across countries) is becoming harder to defend these days. In many places, such as Singapore, most people work in office environments that do not require manual labour.

Some people reach their 60s and prefer to slow down. Others still remain fully engaged in their professional lives as they lead teams, advise businesses, and take on new projects long after the traditional retirement age.

💭 That raises an important question. Should retirement be a rule, or simply a personal decision?

In many cases, the answer depends on three things: financial independence, physical and cognitive health, and whether someone still finds purpose in the work they do. When those factors align, stepping away from work should be a choice rather than an obligation.

Building a longer career also means thinking ahead about healthcare and financial stability. IPG supports professionals with tailored insurance solutions, including health insurance, house insurance, and accident coverage. These policies help protect individuals and their families from unexpected costs and provide stability over time.

😳 “IPG… I think my house is trying to become Sentosa.”

Heavy rain. Normal Tuesday. Nothing dramatic.
Until the living room floor started reflecting the ceiling.

🏠 By the time they realised the balcony drain had declared independence, the sofa legs were swimming and the TV console was reconsidering its life choices.

Another client thought he had the “lightest tap ever” in a condo carpark. You know the one — slow motion, gentle tok.
😱 Workshop quote: S$5,400.

Apparently, modern bumpers now contain half of NASA's sensors.

🧠 Here’s the thing.
In Singapore, disasters don’t usually arrive with fireworks.
They arrive with rain. Or tight parking lots.

🏢 Many organizations still plan their workforce around the idea that people will gradually step away from work in their early 60s. In reality, a growing number of professionals are continuing to build, lead, and advise well beyond that point.

Career structures, performance systems, and employee benefits often have not evolved to reflect this change. For instance, companies invest heavily in early career development but rarely create clear paths for continued growth later in a professional’s career.

Instead of seeing age as a limitation, organizations can benefit from the perspective that comes with years of decision-making and leadership experience. When that perspective is combined with the energy and curiosity of younger colleagues, teams gain a powerful advantage.

⚠️ What Does Your Business Insurance Cover in Force Majeure Situations?

The conflict in the Middle East can and is already affecting companies operating across international markets. Trade routes, logistics, and supplier access can all be affected.

🛡️ Standard business policies usually cover property damage, liability claims, and operational interruptions caused by events like fires or accidents. However, losses directly related to war or military conflict are typically excluded.

If your company operates internationally, you should review:
- Whether your policy includes war exclusions
- Potential supply chain interruptions
- Whether additional protection, such as marine cargo or political risk insurance, is needed in this situation.

In uncertain times, do not hesitate to consult your insurance broker and to explore suitable insurance options.

It started like any normal Monday morning. Then the screens went black. 💻

🤯 Within hours, operations across 600 ports were frozen. Booking systems failed. Emails stopped. Terminals shut down. What followed was one of the most costly cyber incidents in corporate history.

In 2017, the NotPetya cyberattack shut down global shipping giant Maersk, costing the company an estimated US$300 million in losses.
(Source: Maersk Annual Report 2017; Wired)

Cyber insurance wouldn’t have stopped the attack. But it could have covered business interruption and legal costs.

In a digital hub like Singapore, cyber risk isn’t theoretical. The real question isn’t if you’ll face disruption...it’s whether your business can afford it. 💸

Travel Insurance and War Risks: What Is Actually Covered?

Most travel insurance plans cover unexpected events such as medical emergencies, trip cancellations, or travel delays. However, when a war or armed conflict is officially declared in a destination, coverage related to that conflict is usually excluded.

What this means in practice:
- Trips to destinations already experiencing armed conflict are usually not covered for disruptions or evacuation related to the conflict
- Medical treatment or accidents unrelated to the conflict may still be covered, depending on the policy

✈️ Before your next trip:
1. Review your policy wording and consult your insurance broker
2. Check current travel advisories
3. See if your policy includes evacuation coverage

🩺 If you needed an MRI tomorrow or a 3-day private hospital stay, would you be able to cover them comfortably?

😬 Well, if not, be prepared for an MRI cost of S$1,000+ and a 3-day private hospital stay that can exceed S$10,000.

💡 The best option for your health and pocket?

Full private health insurance typically offers higher annual limits of S$500,000+ and access to private hospitals, and specialist care (dental care, pregnancy, laboratory tests & diagnostic scans)

The best option if you have a high risk-propensity and an optimistic mindset :)

Basic health coverage that offers no outpatient specialist or GP coverage, as well as limited choice of doctors.
