往下滑看中文 🌸 Last week, I wrapped up a training for a group of forest therapy guides-in-training (Cohort 139, Sakura). We gathered on Zoom for our final circle, and as I listened to their stories and remembered where each of them began six months ago, I felt so proud—and tender. Each journey was unique, and deeply meaningful in its own way.
In every training, I find myself repeating in one form or another “The simpler it seems, the more heart and hard work live beneath it.” It often comes up when trainees start piecing together the guiding tools, preparing for their practice walks—and realising just how much invisible preparation is needed. And in turn, how much invisible changed they’ve gone through themselves.
Serendipitously, one of my favourite accounts shared something over the weekend about growing pains, “Spring brings the arrival of new life and the joys of witnessing the Earth in rebirth... The Earth makes it look easy. All we see on the surface is her becoming, never betraying the unseen effort it requires.”
Indeed. The next time you find yourself on a guided forest therapy walk with an ANFT certified guide you might notice how simple and effortless it feels. And now, perhaps, you’ll also remember all the quiet layers underneath—the unlearning, the softening, the polishing—both Guides’ and Trainers’—that made the gift of simplicity possible! 😄
