When I look back on my journey, from a teacher, to a business owner and to expanding the business, I am thankful for how far I have come. As an accounting graduate, I knew accounting was never my thing and went to pursue a life as a teacher.
Yet illness took it’s toil and I had to venture from my comfort zone. When I recovered, an opportunity came to be part of a hearing and health care business, and we have grown to incorporate financial planning.
What has a company that primary deals with hearing and healthcare got to do with financial planning, you may ask ?
Everything actually. We always hear the saying , “Health is wealth”.
Yet with more wealth, many times we can actually afford better healthcare, more time for relaxation and for the family, less stress and more nutritious food.
Meeting clients when prescribing hearing aids which cost thousands of dollars, made me wonder if I can do more for them. To assist them to grow their wealth, and afford such premium healthcare products and services. And it was during this time, an opportunity to join a brokerage firm which deals with insurance, investment, retirement planning and legacy planning, with multiple insurers came up.
It gave me an opportunity, to learn the holistic picture of wealth protection, wealth accumulation , wealth management & wealth distribution.
Insurance, - We all have them, yet we have to ask ourselves, have we bought the right policies with the right guidance? Are we insured with disasters happen, whether big or small? Are we over insured in certain areas even? Paying too much premium for something we don’t need, as it doesn’t benefit us.
Investments - Beyond our CPF and fixed deposit, and buying equities off the share markets with our risk on concentrated in our home country and in a particular company, are we diversified enough ? Are we tapping on the huge growth of other countries and looking beyond our shores ? Are our investments growing year on year ? At what rate is our investment growing ? Or like me in the past, we have bought somethings, but we aren’t sure how they are doing or how can we make things even better.
Legacy planning - Have we set aside and planned for our dependents that when we are not around, their lives are more than well provided for? Yes I agree, money cannot buy everything but can we buy anything without money?
Can they have bigger dreams than us, without financial backing in this day and age ? Maybe, but the journey will be tough. Very tough, sometimes even impossible.
Thus to sum it all up. We need the right tools, the right advice, with the right partner to journey alongside us. Looking forward to have a cup of coffee with you or perhaps a beer or whiskey if you prefer, to get to know us, so to begin your journey with us.
