🎉 Congratulations, Jason from Learning To Learn Singapore , on Earning Your QBA! 🎉 We are thrilled to celebrate this incredible milestone with you! Earning your QBA certification is a testament to your dedication, expertise, and passion for making a profound impact on the lives of those you serve.

Your words resonate deeply with all of us in the field:

"Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) holds immense power to change lives. The concepts and principles that define our field are vital—not just clinically, but socially. Yet, as you step into this profession, you’ll quickly notice the misconceptions that still surround ABA. These misunderstandings won't be resolved overnight, but they can be changed—by us.

As practitioners, we carry the responsibility to deliver meaningful, high-quality results that are not just effective, but also compassionate and socially valid. Technicians must be well-trained and grounded in the fundamentals. Analysts must thoughtfully design programs that are practical, respectful, and accepted by the communities we serve.

Our collective efforts will shape the future of this field. Every data point collected with integrity, every program designed with dignity, and every conversation had with empathy helps shift the narrative. Let’s be the generation that not only applies behavior analysis, but elevates it.

Let’s do better—together."

As you step into this next chapter, we know you will continue to inspire others, challenge misconceptions, and lead with integrity.

I have seen this happen multiple times! Organizations focus on academics, but many do not emphasize community skills. This results in poor community skills when the child becomes a teenager. More effort should be made to equip individuals with these essential skills.

Some of the skills we are currently teaching include:
📍 Crossing the road safely when there are no traffic lights
📍 Sexual education – help the boy understand his needs and how to manage it.
📍 Vocational skills – making bracelets so he can earn an income
📍 Purchasing food independently

What's the point of learning math if your child can't perform these basic necessities by himself?

To all parents reading this, start early! Ask your ABA provider to include community skills in your child's IEP.

Most children with autism face communication challenges. However, simply learning vocabulary and grammar, while important, may not help them understand the purpose of speech. What do words do?

In this video, we talk about requesting, an important verbal behavior. When a child learns that "I say my words, I get what I want," they begin to understand that speech has a purpose!

The "heart of behind our ABA therapy" - to empower parents and transform lives for the better.

This is from an elder sister of a client of ours, she noticed the difference of his younger brother, who was nonverbal at 4 years old. He started to sing songs and they developed a budding conversational relationship. This elder sister is an angel, always volunteering herself to join in our session whenever she is free.

One key benefit of home based intervention is to have family members be involved. Unlike clinic or school based settings, we want to build functional and meaning skills in the children we work with so they can develop neaningful relationships with their loved ones.
