Natalia Rachel

Natalia Rachel Writer. Poet. Speaker. Educator. Peace and Power Above All. Her messages distill over 20 years of her own lived self-mastery.

Natalia Rachel shares her voice to begin to remedy the world’s state of hustle, trauma, disconnect, and disrespect. Her insights into the human condition and our profound need for healing, self-compassion, empathy, and human connection, inspire audiences to awaken their hearts, illuminate their patterns and step forward towards self-care and relational repair. Natalia Rachel brings an amalgamation of knowledge from years working as a therapist and clinic director with a focus on trauma & abuse recovery, as well as her own personal journey recovering from mental health misdiagnosis and physical health conditions that stemmed from childhood trauma. She is a proud recipient of the Women Icons Asia Award (emerging entrepreneur) for social impact in the domain of trauma-informed culture transformation & self-mastery education. Her desire to answer the existential questions ‘Why am I?’, ‘Why are you?’, and ‘Why are we?’, started at age 7, and later led her on an incredible journey exploring mainstream & mental healthcare, complementary health care and the spectrum of spirituality and the healing arts. Her professional career commenced in brand & consumer psychology and copywriting. Her calling card was her ability to express complex concepts in accessible and interesting ways and ignite thought and impulse in her audience. As she entered motherhood, she took time off to focus on her children’s formative years and her own personal healing journey. Embarking on a second career, Natalia chose to study as a hypnotherapist and regression therapist, and craniosacral therapist. Fascinated by the mind-body connection and the existential human experience led her to explore trauma, attachment, and somatics and develop her career as a leading voice in trauma recovery, post-traumatic growth & transformation. She also developed the modality ‘Trauma-informed Relational Somatics’ which has been adopted as an integrative tool by therapists around the world. Making her mark on the Singapore healthcare landscape, Natalia built the Soma Clinic brand as the go-to destination for clients suffering from non-diagnostic conditions or symptoms that were non-responsive to mainstream care. Her work as a Clinic Director to illuminate stress & trauma as the root cause of our personal and relational dysfunction opened conversations and avenues for care and recovery for thousands of patients and clients. She continues to place a focus on training healthcare and mental health professionals on trauma-informed care in the hope that medical and social systems will slowly develop policies that are sorely needed to break inter-generational cycles of survival, threat, and trauma. As the world was turned upside down by the Covid Pandemic, Natalia knew that a paradigm shift was required, and so Illuma Health was born. The organization seeks to ‘repair and revitalize the way we look after ourselves and each other.’ The three pillars of business include an online therapy marketplace (specific to trauma, attachment, and somatic therapy), corporate mental health & culture transformation programs, and online education & content development. Natalia believes that in this polarized world where one-to-one human service is grossly unavailable, that content is key. Natalia is personally called on to consult with the world’s leaders to create systemic change and promote personal sustainability and collective vitality. Natalia Rachel is frequently called on to speak and facilitate workshops that inspire a proactive approach to healing and a collective shift towards peace and power. All her work highlights the undoubtable link between mind, body, spirit, and relationships. Her topics include belonging, mental health, trauma & trauma-informed culture, boundaries respect & power, empathy compassion & vulnerability. All her talks blend concepts from science, psychology, interpersonal neurobiology, philosophy, and spirituality in an engaging, accessible format that includes conceptual learning, experiential process, story, self-inquiry, and self-care tool kit development. Audiences walk away feeling energized, hopeful, and empowered to walk their own path of mastery and become accountable for their social footprint. All of her work stems from a desire to support a shift from oppression and suppression, to empowerment and expression, with relationship as the cornerstone for change.

Relational recalibration is the re-ordering of our relational world.

It’s a moment many of go through during the healing journey. And it seems to be we are at a collective moment of it right now.

As we heal, we realise that the evolving version of us no longer fits well in certain relationships.

It can feel deeply uncomfortable, evoke a sense of lonliness or unbelonging, and sometimes tap on grief or anger that harks back to childhood or even some intergenerational or cultural stories we hold.

During this phase, we learn to start relating. Requesting. Surrendering. Seeing people for who they really are. Even if that means to step back a bit, or let them go.

There’s loss here.

But there is often also the emergence of deeper intimacy with a select few.

Repair work.
Honouring.
Re-ordering and recommitting.

This phase will also often welcome some new people into our world… ones where we have the opportunity to set a new template for relationship altogether.

This is a highly transformational time.

What do you think?
Have you gone through or are you going through relational recalibration?

Our protective patterns developed to keep us safe.

At one time or another, we needed them.

The thing is, they usually end up becoming to blocks to connection, intimacy and love.

We may find ourselves pushing love away.
Clutching and suffocating it.
Avoiding it all together.
Projection stories - turning others into perpetrators or potential heartbreakers.

Healing asks us to begin to understand our protective patterns, and to learn to lay them down one a time. Slowly, with patience and a lot of compassion.

Initially we may feel wildly uncomfortable to even terrified. But as we learn to love ourselves in our discomfort, we begin the process of letting love in.

This level of vulnerability is the first step towards reorienting towards love.

Healing shouldn’t be confined to the therapy room.

➡️It needs to be democratised, dispersed, accessible, digestible and available in ways that people are ready for.

➡️This premise has guided my journey from the therapy room and clinical practise into leadership spaces, communities, arts and culture.

➡️This week I’ve taken some time to reflect on the last five years of my professional journey that has seen me expanding from 1-1 clinical practise and programs specific to clinicians into so many different pathways.

➡️I’ve also been reflecting on which voices have criticized or judged these choices, and which have championed and supported my work to continue to evolve and reach new communities in creative ways.

🗓️Just this week alone there is so much breadth in where I’m putting my energy

💠 1-1 therapy clients

💠 commenced a train the trainer program for ‘Trauma-conscious mama’, which will culminate next month with two Singaporean coaches from taking the reigns of this work in South East Asia

💠Alternative love poem writing workshop at book store - this is part of my ‘Other Lovers’ book launch event series that brings healing into the world of romance fiction and invites a new way to process and heal

💠Heal for love live salon series with - in this months session we will be exploring the way trauma impacts and impedes our ability to love and be loved and begin reorienting to healthy love

I’ve also been having plenty of meaningful conversations with my global event partners as well as been in quiet development of something so exciting… another new space that I’d like to enter in the future…

In three weeks I’ll be flying off for my next global teaching and writing tour… and I’m excited to keep travelling this path… ✈️

❓What do you think?

❓Should healing be confined to certain spaces, or should we keep weaving it into new pathways sand places? I’m curious…

We are conditioned to treat relationship like a game.

Wins and losses.
Agendas and outcomes.
Power play. Manipulation. Goals.

But relationship is really about sustained curiosity and care… that goes both ways.

How curious are you?
How caring are you?
How consistent are you?

➡️The answers reveal so much about our emotional availability…

🫶This is intimacy.

❓What do you think?
