Back with Part 2 of my list of Postpartum Essentials! ✨

Ni**le balms/butters are not a solution to all breastfeeding challenges. They are meant to provide mums with some temporary comfort as you ease into breastfeeding. 🤱 However, if you're experiencing consistent pain, bruising, blebs, bleeding etc while breastfeeding, please consult a lactation counsellor/consultant to address potential latching issues. Most of the time, once baby's latch is corrected, a lot of the breastfeeding issues tend to disappear as well.

The newborn stage often tends to be when parents might not pay as close attention to baby's dental hygiene 🦷 because:
1. you don't see teeth;
2. it's the fourth trimester and there always seems to be 367548 things to worry/think about. 🫠

I want to assure you that it's ok if this didn't immediately cross your mind, it's never too late to start. Just as how we're recommended to brush our tongues and gums, our babies need that too even before their first tooth arrives. Even if you don't use the oral cleaners I've featured here, it's completely ok. You can use a soft damp cloth to gently wipe over baby's tongue and gums. 🦷

If you're a new parent or expecting a little one soon, I hope this will be helpful for you, In Sha Allah ✨

Some days and nights are just longer and more exhausting...

I'm nearly 7 weeks postpartum and the following are just purely my own thoughts and reflections.

I've been through postpartum twice before, but this one still hit me like a wrecking ball, Subhanallah 🥲

As someone who is constantly on the move, it has been hard to consciously slow down.

Alhamdulillah ala kulli haal, Allah swt is the Best of Planners and His Plan for me is absolutely perfect even if I'm still bumbling my way through it. Has it been easy? No... but that's the beauty of tawakkal, that despite any hardships we go through, remembering and knowing that Allah is the One who carries us through it.

To all other mums who are struggling to come to terms with this season of their lives, I see you, and most importantly so does Allah, for he is Al-Baseer (The All-Seeing) 🌼

If you’ve been at the receiving end of such comments, I’m so sorry...that’s one of the most unhelpful things a healthcare provider can tell a labouring mum.

This happened to me when I was in labour with my eldest, and it just made me feel like a major inconvenience to the medical team 🥲

If you feel the urge, you should ABSOLUTELY vocalise during labour.

Making sounds during labour can actually be IMMENSELY helpful. We’re talking about giving in to your body’s instincts and allowing yourself to make low moaning or guttural sounds while keeping your jaw relaxed. This also serves as a good distraction technique during labour. Unless you’re in an apocalyptic situation or you’re giving birth in “A Quiet Place” kind-of situation, there is absolutely no reason why you should be restricted from making any sounds during labour.

Did you have the urge to vocalise during labour? Drop a comment below!

I was scrambling to remember what were the essentials that I need to get me through the initial postpartum period when I entered my third trimester. It had been 5 years since my last postpartum experience after all. Every parent's postpartum experience is unique and different, but I wanted to share about some of the things that worked for me in the past or that have been working for me in my current postpartum period.

So here's part 1 of the Postpartum Essentials series. If you're a new parent or expecting a little one soon, I hope you'll find this helpful, In Sha Allah ✨

Alhamdulillah, my family and I welcomed our baby boy last month, and amidst all the health struggles, we're doing well.

Thank you to all who checked in on us and offered your support, we truly appreciate it.

I'll try to share more as we continue to navigate this new chapter of our lives ❤️

Alhamdulillah shukur 🤲🏾

10cm Dilated ≠ Time to Push. 🛑

Wait... what?

It sounds counterintuitive, but "Labouring Down" is one of the best-kept secrets for a smoother delivery. If baby is still high up, "active" pushing is just fighting gravity.

Instead, we want to work with the body, not against it.

The benefits?

✨ Less maternal exhaustion

✨ Potentially less tearing

✨ A more calm, controlled birth experience

Check out the slides to see why waiting for the "Urge to Push" is a total game-changer.

I didn’t expect this chapter of pregnancy to look like this.
Severe eczema, constant discomfort, sleepless nights... pregnancy eczema has really taken a toll on me physically, mentally and emotionally. Just wanted to share a bit about what I've been going through in case it resonates with other pregnant mums out there.
Hang in there mamas!💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾

A little life update 🤍

By God's Grace, I'm currently expecting and baby is due next month, yayyy! 🥳

This pregnancy has been the most intense one yet, and with baby arriving next month, I’ll be putting a pause on physical workshops, at least for the first half of this year.

This season is slower, more inward, and deeply humbling. I’m hoping to share more about what this journey has been like, how I’m preparing for birth, and what I learn as I move into postpartum again.

Thank you for your understanding, your support, and for being part of this community—it truly means more than you know 🤍

A new year, and the same heart behind this work 🤍
To support births with presence.
To hold space for new parents as they find their footing.
To remind families that they don’t have to do this alone.

Thank you for trusting me during such tender, transformative moments.
Here’s to gentle beginnings, informed choices, and feeling deeply supported—every step of the way.

Wishing you a year filled with softness, strength, and calm confidence 🌿

As the year comes to a close, I just want to say thank you.
To every parent who showed up, asked questions, trusted me with their stories, and allowed me to walk a small part of your journey with you — I don’t take that lightly.

This work continues to humble me every single day.
Here’s to learning, unlearning, growing, and holding space — together. 🤍
