(Yoga and Personal Training) I am a yoga instructor and personal trainer, based in Singapore.

I have been teaching yoga since 2013, and providing strength training for individual clients since early 2020. My personal yoga and fitness journey is motivated by my intention to move well, eat well, travel, and to live fully and independently into old age. My yoga background is predominantly in the styles of Hatha, Yin, Restorative, Therapy, and Prenatal/Post-partum. As a personal trainer, I offer strength training and conditioning, with a focus on posture correction, body awareness, and functional mobility.

Found this picture whilst digging through memories from this space as we finish our final sessions this week on Circular Road. I've been part of the team since late 2023. In this studio space, I have made many friends, evolved my movement practice and learnt more ways to support my clients. We're in transition for the next couple of weeks before we move into our new space along Cantonment Road. Looking forward to new adventures and connections in one of my favourite neighborhoods!!!

Trainers, teachers and instructors need to have their own teachers and mentors as well. The learning journey never stops and it really helps to have the right support in order to challenge boundaries and to step out of my comfort zone. Grateful for the years of mentorship, wisdom and friendship , empowering me to do what I do for my clients both inside and outside the gym.

(p.s. Yes I'm still terrified of inversions and that's ok.)

So this is 40. It is truly bittersweet to celebrate this milestone at this time, but I will nonetheless do so. It is a privilege to be able to get a little older each year, and I do not take it for granted. Sending love to everyone who has touched my life in some way in these 40 years. I will cherish and celebrate the joys in each moment while accepting and integrating the endings and the losses.

I'm delighted to share that I have joined as coach and will be working in this gorgeous space with an innovative team behind it.

Much love to my awesome boss Bronwen who first inspired me to become a personal trainer. We now have come a full circle to finally be working together in the same space!

Here's to more juggling and balancing between work and fun, and having lots of laughs together whilst at it.

As we are reaching the end of 2023, I'd like to share one of the many things I am immensely grateful for this year.... My wonderful clients - Laura and Steve Yates. I started working with both of them in April 2023 with a view of their epic year-end adventure in Peru. Here's a lovely testimonial from Laura about her experience, along with some really cute photos from their trip!

"Over the past year, Shu Ting has been a pillar of strength and motivation for me in our private training sessions. She constantly adjusted and tweaked my training schedule depending on what old injuries came up, and was even flexible with my intensity depending on my menstrual cycle – which I found so helpful and necessary in a peri-menopause body!

💜latest newsletter is out and I have listed a number of amazing practitioners that have been helping me in some deep spiritual work that has manifested physically in my body💜

❤️The wisdom of the body is alway so profound.
❤️Over the past few months I have in training physically, mentally and spiritually for our upcoming adventure to Peru.
❤️The interesting thing is that I have had old injuries flare up, my sciatica and my knee. Knowing that is is not just a physical weakness, I have delved deep into the emotional and spiritual messages that my body is trying to tell me. The body is so wise!

❤️Through my own somatic healing: My own TRE sessions, dance and my own meditation journeys to the source of the pain, and with the help of other healers and practitioners.
I have gained an understanding of past life trauma that is manifesting in this physical form, the sabotage and protection that my body is bringing up, and long held defence mechanisms that are being triggered.

❤️I am now starting to feel ready for my upcoming spiritual journey to the Andes.

❤️I have had a number of practitioners assist me in this, and so I wanted to give them a shout out and refer them, should they resonate with you.

A long covid cough since Oct 2022 landed me in hospital last weekend with a slipped disc.

How it happened? Well, I was sedantary and laying sideways on a couch for too long watching baseball one morning, I coughed as I got up, and experienced an immediate sharp pain in my hip.

The MRI showed an L5S1 slipped disc. Thankfully mild, so I was given painkillers and sent to rehab. More importantly, I finally got diagnosed with sinusitis and asthmatic cough (triggered by covid) and received aggressive treatment for both.

Big thanks to everyone for your concern and well wishes! I already got cleared by the hospital physio for yoga and climbing, and will resume working with my clients starting tomorrow!!!

The whole experience was a fortunate one and got me to really take time out to rest and to heal. My learning process continues as I rehab my back.

I always tell my clients to listen to their bodies and here I am still learning to listen to mine. 😌😌😌
