The Dr. Theiss Group
The well-known pharmacist and scientist from Homburg, Dr. Peter Theiss, recognised as long as 30 years ago the trend among health-conscious consumers to favour healthcare products made from natural ingredients. Building on the comprehensive range of natural remedies created in own production at the Markt-Apotheke, and prompted by ever-increasing demand, he established the Dr.
Theiss Naturwaren GmbH in 1978. Over the years, and as a result of continuous growth and success, additional brands were added to the portfolio, covering different areas of competence alongside the Dr. Theiss brand. The Dr. Theiss Group now also includes medipharma cosmetics (skincare products based on olive oil), Allgäuer Latschenkiefer (with its acclaimed leg and footcare range as well as remedies for muscle and joint pain) and Lacalut (oral and dental hygiene products). From natural remedies to oral hygiene, from foot- & skincare to beauty products, everything is produced in line with the company motto \"in harmony with nature\" and is available worldwide at pharmacies only. National and international brand recognition of the innovative health and beauty care range offered by Dr. Theiss Naturwaren increases on a daily basis. Since 2005, the group of companies has been among the top three in a list of 1,250 pharmacy-exclusive providers of beauty care products. The company's headquarter in Homburg currently employs 230 staff. Following the merger of the four companies – Dr. Theiss Naturwaren, Medipharma Homburg GmbH, Arcam GmbH and Allga Pharma GmbH – into the Dr. Theiss Group of Companies, with its headquarters in the town of Homburg, all products are marketed to pharmacies worldwide through partners and subsidiaries across five continents, employing a total staff of 1,000. The success and continuous growth of the Dr. Theiss Naturwaren GmbH is an endorsement of its founder's foresight, 30 years ago. As a result of increasing demand for natural health and beauty care products, the company's production facilities are currently being extended. Just 500 metres from the current headquarters, the new facility will provide 120 high-level jobs on a total floorspace of 13,000 square metres, divided into production and logistics.
