Every day foot care is essential for comfort and mobility, particularly in Singapore’s warm, humid climate, where skin and nail conditions are common. Professional podiatric care can help manage corns, calluses, cracked heels, blisters, fungal nails, ingrown toenails, and plantar warts by addressing the underlying cause, including pressure points, footwear issues, and abnormal foot structure.
Flat foot pain is more than tired arches; it is load in the wrong places.
SIGNS
Aching along the arch or inner ankle, sore after long standing or walking, shoes leaning in, callus on the forefoot.
LIKELY CULPRITS
overpronation, tight calves, worn or very flexible shoes, hard surfaces, quick training spikes
DO THIS
• Supportive shoes with a firm heel counter and some midfoot stiffness
• An insole or met dome to spread pressure
• Calf and foot strength, start with seated, then standing heel raises and foot doming
• Short bouts of ice after activity, avoid barefoot at home
SKIP THIS
• Old or soft shoes that collapse
• Sudden mileage jumps or high impact when sore
GET CHECKED IF
Swelling or pain lasts more than two weeks, the arch looks flatter than before, pain wakes you at night, or numbness or tingling appears.
HOW WE HELP AT THE FOOT PRACTICE
RehaWalk pressure sensor gait analysis maps your loading; footwear assessment matches support to your feet; custom orthoses reduce overload; mobilisation; and a progressive strength plan builds resilience. Shockwave may be considered for stubborn cases as part of your care.

Medial tibial stress syndrome, often called shin splints, causes a nagging ache along the inside of your shin during runs or brisk walks. It is usually linked to training spikes, hard surfaces, worn shoes or overpronation and responds best to smart load management and targeted strengthening.
• Signs: dull inner shin ache that eases as you warm up but bites after or the next day, tenderness along a length of bone rather than one pinpoint spot
• Do now: cut impact and switch to cycling or swimming for a week, wear supportive trainers and avoid barefoot at home, use short bouts of ice after activity, stretch the calves and soleus, begin controlled loading with seated then standing heel raises and add hip and foot strength
• Get checked if: pain localises to one small spot or occurs at night, swelling or pain worsens despite a deload, or you are unsure if it is a stress reaction
• Our approach: RehaWalk pressure sensor gait analysis to map load and track progress, footwear assessment and custom orthoses to reduce tibial strain, mobilisation with a graded return to running plan, Shockwave may be considered for stubborn pain as part of your care
Do not let shin pain sideline your season. Book a podiatry assessment and run smarter, not sorer.
Sore foot that nags with every step? It could be foot tendonitis. Think Achilles, posterior tibial, peroneal or extensor tendons. Signs include morning stiffness, pain that builds with hills or stairs, and tenderness along the tendon.
What to do now
• Ease back from high impact and switch to cycling or swimming
• Wear supportive shoes with a firm heel counter
• Use short bouts of ice after activity
• Start gentle calf and foot loading, such as seated heel raises and foot doming
• Avoid sudden training spikes and uneven terrain until symptoms settle
How we help at The Foot Practice
• RehaWalk pressure sensor gait analysis to find the hotspots and track progress.
• Footwear assessment to match support to your goals.
• Custom orthoses to reduce overload on the sore tendon.
• Mobilisation and a progressive strength plan to build resilience.
• Shockwave may be considered for stubborn cases as part of your care.
Do not let tendon pain derail your week. Book a podiatry assessment and get a plan that fits your life and your shoes.
Pain isn’t just part of training. Common running injuries like plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, and shin splints often stem from poor mechanics or worn-out footwear.
At The Foot Practice, we assess your gait, strength, and mobility to find the real cause, not just manage the symptoms.
Better movement starts with better understanding. Schedule an initial consultation with our sports podiatrist today:
In collaboration with FootJoy Singapore, The Foot Practice explored how golfers can gain an edge through data-driven movement analysis. Using muscle activation testing, foot scanning and other tools, Tim Maiden measured how lower-limb muscles fire throughout the golf swing, revealing insights into balance, stability, and power generation that can make all the difference on the course.
When your body moves efficiently, every drive feels smoother, stronger, and more confident.
Performance starts where it matters most. To learn how our sports performance assessments can improve your game:
The Foot Practice x FootJoy brought muscle activation testing to measure how golfers’ lower-limb muscles fire during movement. By understanding how each muscle contributes to balance and force generation, we can identify imbalances that may limit your performance or increase injury risk.
Pair that with golf-specific ankle stability exercises, and you’re building a stronger, more stable base for every drive and putt. Better activation means improved control, smoother weight transfer, and consistent power through impact.
Because a more stable golfer is a more confident golfer. Make an appointment at The Foot Practice today:
Lead Podiatrist Tim Maiden collaborated with the FootJoy team to use muscle activation testing and golf-specific ankle stability assessments to fine-tune players’ balance, control, and power.

We recently had a great day with FootJoy Singapore, diving into how science meets performance in golf.
Lead Podiatrist Tim Maiden worked alongside golfers to explore how the right footwear can elevate stability, comfort, and power throughout the swing. Using advanced tools for muscle activation testing, Volumental foot scanning, and specific ankle stability assessments, we gained deeper insight into how each golfer’s foot moves.
The result? Better balance, improved performance, and footwear choices that truly fit both your game and your feet.

Corns may seem like minor skin issues, but they often point to deeper biomechanical imbalances. At The Foot Practice, we look beyond surface treatment. Through gait analysis with RehaWalk®, we detect pressure hotspots, then prescribe custom orthoses and footwear adjustments that offload those affected areas. Combined with skin care, mobilisation techniques, and targeted therapies, we help break the cycle so corns don’t keep coming back.
Book a consultation today to treat the cause, not just the corn:
Running is fantastic for fitness and mindset, but it also places repeated stress on your feet. At The Foot Practice, we see runners of all levels struggle with injuries like plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis, stress fractures, and shin splints.
What often surprises runners is that the root causes aren’t just how much you train, but how your feet move. Using advanced tools like RehaWalk® gait analysis, we spot mechanical imbalances early. From there, footwear assessments and custom orthoses redirect harmful forces. Where needed, mobilisation exercises restore joint mobility, and shockwave therapy helps heal persistent tissue damage.
Don’t let a running injury bench your progress. If pain persists, book an appointment with The Foot Practice:
