The Healing Drum with Malika Avani Facilitator of inter-generational wellness mentorship, group workshops and transformational retreats. Drumming has become so much a part of her.

Malika embarked on a solo journey into the unknown only to find within herself, ancestral wisdom that she believes is accessible to all when we bring back the sacred in every offering of this majestic life. In 2011, the call to South America came strongly as she spent 2 years learning the language and the local cultures. Through her time living in Chile, she connected to the Andean cultures and rituals. In 2014, she embarked on an even more profound work healing her past. As a sexual abuse survivor, her passion for healing and ceremonial work deepened with the introduction of her first shamanic drum from Peru. It accompanied her through her journey into the Brazilian Amazon, with a caravan of Rainbow family to support the tribe of Kuntamana in hosting a gathering of the tribes. Through sitting in ceremonies with the tribes, she found her voice and started her path as a keeper of songs. Her nomadic lifestyle enforces a life of simplicity with great respect to the land. In September last year, her path led her to the lands of the Lakotas as support to the Standing Rock movement, there she received her second drum from the Lakota lineage. Malika travels the world offering circles and ceremonies to support others in reconnecting to the land, to our ancestral wisdom. Through her songs and her deep connection to Mother Earth, she facilitates the freeing of the inner voice to sing our heart songs.

My Morning walk gifts from the land 3 hornbill feathers 🐆🌹the wind came and I asked clear the path of old ways . .

I said hello to my tree friends and right as I acknowledge how their view will soon change with the new condominium they are building...

I saw these 3 feathers on my path

The Hornbill has been accompanying me in my journey home and has become a part of my medicine of remembrance. My maternal grandmother came from Kalimantan and my great grandpa was a jungle chief . And here I am having my morning conversation with my elemental ancestors and what a gift to experience life in this way.
