Endoscopic Spine Surgery at Mount Elizabeth Hospitals offers precise relief for herniated discs and lumbar spine issues through a minimally invasive approach. Using incisions and a high-definition camera, this technique reduces tissue damage, helps ease pain, and supports faster recovery—often allowing patients to return home the same day.

Get precise relief with less downtime—so back pain doesn’t hold you back.

What if that ‘sun tan’ on your ankles or persistent leg swelling was something more?

It can be Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI), a condition when leg veins fail to efficiently return blood to the heart. Normally, vein valves prevent blood from flowing backward—but when they malfunction, blood can pool in the legs, causing circulation problems that lead to heaviness, swelling, skin changes, and even ulcers.

Recent headlines have brought vascular health into sharper focus with studies suggesting that people aged 75 and above face up to a 70% chance of developing CVI. While not life-threatening, it can quietly undermine comfort, mobility, and overall quality of life often mistaken as a normal part of ageing.

🎥 Watch Dr. Tang Tjun Yip, General and Vascular Surgeon at Mount Elizabeth Hospitals, explain how to spot symptoms early and when to seek help.

I never smoked. I lived healthily. I never thought cancer would find me.

When Mr Leung’s colleague was diagnosed with lung cancer, it came as a wake-up call. He went for an X-ray, followed by a low-dose CT scan—and that’s when early-stage lung cancer was detected.

Just seven days after diagnosis, he underwent a lobectomy—and has since returned to his active lifestyle as an avid squash player and regular jogger, now cancer-free.

▶️ This World Lung Cancer Day, we share Mr Leung’s story, along with expert insights from Cardiothoracic Surgeon Dr Su Jang Wen, on how advanced screening methods like low-dose CT scans can detect lung cancer early—when it’s most treatable:

Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital marks a new milestone in structural heart care with its first Mitral Valve-in-Valve (ViV) procedure, performed by Dr Edgar Tay, Dr Mathew Liew Boon Wah and Dr Cliff Wong using the latest Edwards SAPIEN 3 Ultra RESILIA valve — highlighting the team’s expertise in minimally invasive interventions.

Designed for patients with failing bioprosthetic mitral valves, the ViV procedure offers a safer, less invasive alternative to open-heart surgery — with faster recovery and fewer risks. With early access to cutting-edge technology and a strong multidisciplinary approach, our specialists remain at the forefront of cardiac innovation.

Learn how our heart valve experts are shaping the future of structural heart care.

Hepatitis is a growing global health threat yet often goes unnoticed.

Chronic viral hepatitis claims 1.3 million lives a year—3,500 every single day. While hepatitis B and C are preventable and treatable, they continue to spread silently, infecting 8,000 people daily.

This World Hepatitis Day, get tested early. Protect your liver, your life, and your community.
