Ramadhan Kareem to all my Muslim brothers and sisters. It is the ONE month of the year that brings so much meaning and tranquility- spiritually and as a whole being. May we welcome this special GUEST to our home with open arms and love. May Allah bless us with this Ramadhan with forgiveness of the past, present, and future sins. May HE accepts all our ibadah and multiplies the rewards. You have seen them on most food and drink products lately due to the Keto and low Carb diet movement. It has been there for some time due to increased obesity and Type 2 Diabetes issues.

You have heard of artificial sweeteners known as synthetic sugar substitutes. They are saccharin, acesulfame, aspartame, neotame, and sucralose. It is approved in America and many other countries like Singapore but banned in most European countries.

You have the alcohol sugar - xylitol, erythritol, sorbitol, maltitol, mannitol, isomalt, and lactitol. The structure is similar to sugar but, it contains an alcohol molecule. Hence it can be sweeter than regular sugar and does not metabolize by the body like regular sugar.

The "no sugar" or "zero sugar" labels you see on your food labels are these types of sugar mentioned above. Certain people will have digestive issues like bloatedness and gas which, can cause unusual stomach discomfort and pain after consuming such sugar alternatives.

I recommend eating it with other food and not on any stomach.
Almost all sugar made in the lab except for stevia ( a sweet herb) may cause digestive issues to some people.

There is a new sugar that I have tried that has no after taste like aspartame or alcohol sugar. I love to use it in my tea when I need some sweetness. It is one of the best sugar alternatives for those trying to cut down on sugar due to Type 2 diabetes and overweight issues.

Do you want to lose weight? Cut down on sugar. A High Sugar diet means a high amount of Insulin Hormones circulating in your blood. Remember, Your insulin hormones not only take sugar from your blood and store it in your muscles and liver for later usage, but it is also a fat-storing hormone. Any excess sugar which the muscles and liver cannot store is converted into fats.

So if you have high blood pressure, high triglycerides, high cholesterol, prediabetes, Type 2 Diabetes, it didn't begin because of high salt or fat consumption rather sugar.
The long-term abuse of a high sugar diet could lead to insulin resistance which causes many of the modern diseases we know of now.

The new way to lose weight is to have self-awareness of your body. It is to admit the gap which leads to poor dietary choices. Are you feeling depressed or anxious? Are you feeling stressed? Why? What is causing it? Are you getting any emotional help or support for this if it has persisted for some time?

For you to lose weight, your body needs to be healthy.

It always starts with choices of food. Nothing can stop your body from losing excess weight if your body is healthy. Start to think about how to keep your body healthy rather than just focusing on losing weight. You may take any concoction to aid with weight loss, but if you do not change your diet habits, the weight will creep up again. So keep your mind and body healthy and, the weight will melt off.

Ladies, Sugar is the one main reason that makes you prematurely age faster. It is far more detrimental in your 40s as it can exacerbate the perimenopause symptoms like hot flushes and weight gain issues. Many women in their 40s and beyond face mood-swing issues and low libido. It is mainly due to poor dietary habits that cause mayhem in their hormonal function. Remember ladies, if you are 35 and above, the body is already in the process of preparing the hormones for menopause though it can happen in the late 40s or 50s. However, a poor diet can produce many negative symptoms like weight gain, mood swings, depression, chronic diseases. I have friends in their late 30s having hot flushes due to rapid hormonal imbalances due to a high intake of food with sugar. One of the dietary ingredients we always have to be mindful of is Sugar. It lurks in every morsel of food we eat, so we need to educate ourselves to work around it and still enjoy our youth and health for as long as possible.

I love sugar. I have such a sweet tooth that I could eat my three meals just on a simple dessert of cakes and all other forms of desserts in any given bakery shop. I love my chocolate, and I love it too much.

What did I have to pay for such an indulgence?

Weight Issues, skin breakouts, and skin issues, prediabetes, hormonal imbalances, mood swings, PMS, bloatedness, insulin resistance.

Let me share with you something. It is not easy to ditch sugar. It hides in most of the food we eat. It disguises itself as a carbohydrate. Yup! Carbohydrate means Saccharide scientifically. To our common understanding, we called it Sugar.

As much as I try to ditch Sugar, the more it chases me, and like an addict, I get hooked to it with a snap of the fingers.

I realized that most of us are unable to ditch sugar. That includes me too. I have learned to work around the existence of sugar without fearing it but understanding how my body works. I decide whether I need the added sugar or is something bothering me. Why do I need that dessert, chocolate or bread?

Many studies have shown that most women reached out for sweet food due to stress. Stress causes a change in the hormonal balance that could induce our brain to crave such unhealthy food.

Good Morning Beautiful people😍
It's November!!!
And am back after a month or so of fasting from social media to reflect and start a new path towards my journey in life. My first day of starting a new job and ya kinda missing my freedom to do whatever and whenever I want kind of things. Nonetheless, am blessed for this new journey and looking forward to a rewarding and beautiful journey ahead. I Will be missing my time with hub the most but a girl got to do what a girl got to do. 😬😬😬
