Selenium may be small, but it plays an essential role in your body — from protecting your cells against oxidative stress, to supporting thyroid function, immunity, and gut health.

The tricky part? Adults need just 55 mcg/day, yet an estimated 500 million to 1 billion people worldwide don’t get enough (Rayman, Lancet 2012).

Selenium is present in foods like Brazil nuts, seafood, and eggs, but daily intake can vary. That’s why it’s included in Vicofem®, for consistent support 💜

Hormonal imbalance isn’t just about hot flashes or menopause.

Let’s stop normalizing suffering and start getting curious about our health.

Which of these myths did you once believe?

Your hormones aren’t working against you. They’re sophisticated chemical messengers designed to keep your body functioning properly.

When cortisol rises during stress, when insulin responds to meals, when melatonin increases at night. These are all purposeful signals maintaining your body’s delicate balance.

The key insight? Hormonal fluctuations often indicate underlying needs: nutrient deficiencies, gut imbalances, inadequate sleep, or chronic stress. Instead of suppressing these signals, supporting your body’s natural systems allows hormones to function as intended.

Understanding this communication system empowers you to make informed decisions about your health, from the foods you eat to the high quality supplements you choose.

What aspect of hormonal health would you like to understand better?

Perimenopause is a transition that women face, yet many don’t hear about it until they’re living through it.

Too often, symptoms are dismissed: “You’re just stressed.” “This is just part of Aging.” “Don’t overthink it.”

But perimenopause can begin as early as your 30s or 40s, bringing changes like irregular periods, mood shifts, weight gain, sleep issues, and hot flashes. These are the result of real hormonal shifts as estrogen and progesterone begin to dip.

It’s time to change the conversation. The more openly we talk about perimenopause, the better prepared women will be to navigate this stage with clarity and support.

In a study that was published in The Journal of Headache and Pain in 2020, researchers found that people who frequently experience migraines or headaches were more likely to also have IBS or Crohn’s disease.

They also observed a link between high levels of H. pylori and headaches — and noted that when the gut imbalance was addressed, patients’ headaches improved.

Your head and your gut are more connected than you think. If headaches are a frequent part of your life, it might be worth tracking them and taking a closer look at your gut health.
