On 13 August 2020, the Straumann Group announced that sales of the equinox/Myriad brand of dental implant systems have been discontinued following the successful launch of the Neodent® brand in India and elsewhere. Neodent enables the company to address customer requirements for attractively priced/inexpensive dental implant solutions that offer much greater prosthetic flexibility, CAD-CAM solutions, and digital workflows – without losing simplicity.

The larger international brands in the Straumann Group have the advantage of ongoing development, education programs and a large body of clinical experience. The Group therefore believes that these brands will support former equinox/Myriad users in providing greater benefits to their patients.

The cover screw is now taken from the blister using either the hand screw driver or torque driver via the handpiece and screwed onto the inserted implant prior to closing of the flap.

Final tightening is recommended to be done by the torque ratchet with an optimal insertion torque of between 35-45Ncm.

10/06/2016

The implant can be inserted/turned into place using the torque ratchet or the handpiece. In case the handpiece is used it must be inserted upto the top microthread using the micromotor.

The implant blister is peeled open to expose the Myriad-Plus™ implant that is housed in a titanium vial alongside the cover screw.

The osteotomy site is then prepared with the subsequent D3.8mm drill in the sequence to the depth of 13mm. Drill speeds recommended are 500-800 RPM.
