💉 IV DRAMA IN SIERRA LEONE! 🏥 Are We OVER-DRIPPING?!**

Yo Salone! 🇸🇱 Let’s talk about something SERIOUS… but in a way we all can relate! 🤔

Ever walked into a clinic with a small headache or malaria, and the nurse immediately says, “You need drip!” 🚑💦 Like, “Aunty, I just came for Panadol!”* 😂

But here’s the REAL TEA ☕: Overusing IV drips when not necessary can cause BIG problems:
✔️ Needle pain for nothing (Ouch! 😫)
✔️ Risk of infections (Your vein is not a spaghetti junction! 🍝)
✔️ Shortages for REAL emergencies (When someone actually NEEDS it, ehn-o!)

WHY THIS HAPPENS?
🔹 “Drip works faster!”– Myth! Oral meds can be just as effective for mild cases.
🔹 “Patients demand it!” – True, but let’s trust our doctors when they say “No drip needed.”
🔹 “Old habits die hard” – Some clinics still over-prescribe IVs because… “Na so we de do am!”

WHAT CAN WE DO?
✅ Ask questions! “Doc, why drip? Can I take tablets?”
✅ Spread the word! Share this post so others know.
✅ Support better policies! MoH should enforce guidelines.

🚨 TB Crisis in Sierra Leone: A Wake-Up Call! 🚨

Imagine fighting a battle with your best weapons—only for them to suddenly disappear. That’s what’s happening right now with tuberculosis (TB) care in Sierra Leone after a U.S. funding freeze! 💔

Without this funding, here’s what we’re facing:

⚠ Fewer TB Tests – People with TB may not get diagnosed, leading to silent spread in communities.
⚠ Treatment Interruptions – Stopping treatment halfway can turn TB into a drug-resistant supervillain. 🦠
⚠ Health Workers Losing Jobs – No doctors and nurses = No fight against TB!
⚠ Hospitals Overwhelmed – More untreated cases mean a health system on the edge.

💡 What Can Be Done?
✅ Find New Funding Sources – Other donors, private sector… it’s time to get creative!
✅ Invest in Local Health Systems – More domestic funding = less reliance on foreign aid.
✅ Join Forces Regionally – TB doesn’t respect borders, so why should our response?

This is more than a crisis—it’s a wake-up call! Sierra Leone can turn this into a story of resilience and innovation. But we need action NOW. 🚀
