We will continue to engage and sensitize our communities on appropriate Water and Sanitation Hygiene(WASH) practices.

Recently, using what we call Theater for Development (TfD), we engaged six communities of Gbedembu, Makai, Magbuema, Maquie, Mayamba and Makokoi in Bombali District on the project: Strengthening Women and Young People's Capacity to Sustainably Manage Water and Sanitation facilities.

As we concluded our week long(9/2/2022) activity on facilitating the setting up of WASH Committees in six communities in Gbedembu Chiefdom-Bombali District, the stakeholders in Gbedembu town where excited about the initiative taken by Health_Link Salone through funding by EU and Trocaire, and support provided by AAD-SL.

The selected WASH Committee members in Gbedembu town pledged commitments and promised to work within their Terms of References with the view of help to achieved the project goal.

When staff work together, tasks are carried out with commitments, dedication, and positive outcome as the focus.

On Saturday, 5th February 2022, under the Gauged-Civil Sub Grant funded by the EU and Trocaire with support from AAD-SL, HLS' Staff facilitated the setting up of Community WASH Committee in Maquie community.

This is part of the activities geared towards strengthening sustainably managing water and sanitation hygiene facilities in Gbedembu Chiefdom-Bombali District.

Activation/establishment of Community WASH Committee continues in Makai community.

Before the selection of the WASH executive by the Committee members, HLS Program Manager, Ing. Ibrahim Ahmed Kanu and the Admin & Finance Officer, Madam Caroline Jariatu Bah facilitated a session where the selection criteria of the WASH members was clearly explained to community stakeholders.
HLS Executive Director, Lovel Fornah and the M&E Officer, Ibrahim Mansaray, emphasized on the Terms of Reference(ToR) of the selected members.
Thanks to the European Union and Trocaire for the funding, and Action for Advocacy and Development for supporting HLS under the Governance Accountability Under Gender Empowered Development by Civil Society (GAUGED-Civil) Sub Grant project.

Health_Link Salone(HLS) activates/establishes Community WASH structures

Today, 3rd February 2022, HLS with *funds* from European Union and Trocaire and support from AAD-SL , our team, led by the Executive Director, Mr. Lovel Fornah, was in Mayamba Community to facilitate the activation/establishment of a WASH Committee.
Similar structure and activity will be conducted in Gbendembu, Makokoi, Magbuema, Maquie and Makai in the next few days.

Our team ensured that the selection criteria was fair and TOR of the committee was clear to participants during the discussion session with the community stakeholders

The goal of the establishment of the Committee is to have a structure that will strengthen the community to sustainably manage water and sanitation facilities.

In Makokoh Community today, 18th December 2021, the focus of the Inception Meeting was on the _Strenthening women and young people's capacity to sustainably manage water and sanitation facilities_Project to be implemented six communities within Gbendembu Chiefdom.

We were thrilled and felt a feeling of hope that the people of Makai are undoubtedly determined to taking up the responsibility of sustainably managing their water and sanitation facilities after our engagement with them.
