It works by inhibiting DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, blocking bacterial DNA replication β€” making it bactericidal.

β€’ Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP)
β€’ Acute bacterial sinusitis
β€’ Chronic bronchitis exacerbations
β€’ Skin & soft tissue infections
β€’ Intra-abdominal infections

⚠️ Avoid use in:
❌ Children under 18 years
❌ Pregnancy & lactation
❌ QT prolongation & Myasthenia gravis

Types of S***m Malformations (Abnormal S***m Morphology):
S***m malformations refer to abnormal shapes or structures of s***m cells that can affect their ability to fertilize an egg. Normally shaped s***m have an oval head, a midpiece (neck), and a long tail. Any abnormality in these parts is called teratozoos***mia.

🧬 Main Types of S***m Malformations

1. Head Abnormalities

Large or small head – abnormal size may affect DNA content.

Round head (globozoos***mia) – lacks the acrosome, preventing egg pe*******on.

Tapered or elongated head – abnormal head shape can affect motility.

Double head – two heads attached to one midpiece.

Amorphous head – irregular, poorly defined head shape.

Vacuolated head – small fluid-filled spaces in the head, often linked to DNA damage.

2. Midpiece (Neck) Abnormalities

Thick or thin midpiece – affects energy production for movement.

Bent neck – tail is improperly attached.
