๐ด๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ฏ๐๐๐๐๐โ, held on 10โ11 June 2025 in Bader-Guriโel, Galmudug State. This event brought together experts, community leaders, and professionals to engage in critical discussions on the intersection of human rights and mental health. The workshop explored essential topics, including human rights in the context of mental health care, the importance of inclusive and rights-based approaches, stigma reduction, and innovative psychosocial support systems.
The workshop offered a comprehensive overview of key issues, including the principles of human rights as they apply to mental health, promoting inclusive care practices, raising awareness about stigma, and discussing community-based mental health models. These discussions were instrumental in building a shared understanding of how mental health should be treated as a human right, not a privilege.
We extend our deepest gratitude to United Nations Transitional Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNTMIS), ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐จ๐๐๐ข๐๐ข๐๐ฅ ๐ฌ๐ฉ๐จ๐ง๐ฌ๐จ๐ซ, whose unwavering support and collaboration were essential in making this event a success. Their commitment to advancing mental health awareness and promoting human rights in Somalia is deeply appreciated.
The event has laid the foundation for continued efforts to promote mental health as a universal right and to implement rights-based mental health care solutions across Somalia. We are excited to build on the momentum generated and continue to engage stakeholders in meaningful work to protect the dignity and well-being of all individuals.
Finally, we remain committed to promoting mental health awareness and human rights and encourage you to stay connected for upcoming initiatives and events.
