Dear H.E, Gen, Hon, Mr/Mrs., Ladies/Gentlemen,

Subject: Akobo County Hospital Emergency Contribution for Fuel and Drugs
--------------------------------
It is with a great honor and respect to inform you that health services were totally disrupted since ICRC left Akobo County Hospital on 10th August, 20224. The patients who are scheduled for operations in the OT are affected, as blood transfusions, laboratory tests, the medication cooling system is completely damaged, no medications, and patients who were transferred from Health Facilities have no food, which has also contributed to 29 deaths in the hospital during two weeks’ time.

On November 20, 2024, people of Akobo town held their first-ever Peaceful Demonstration, demanding that the Ministry of Health in R-TGONU of the Republic of South Sudan under the services cluster, as well as UNICEF who is in-charge of donor funds, approve funds allocated to Care International or any other organization willing to run Akobo County Hospital. However, more delays occurred in the process.

On behalf of CHD staff and myself, I would like to ask the dear sons and daughters of Akobo County, wherever you are, businesspersons, faith-based groups, and national and international non-governmental organizations (NGOs) on the ground to make an emergency contribution in any form, i.e. money, drugs, fuel, cow, goat, sorghum/wheat flours, etc., in order to save lives and maintain hospital operations as usual.

Therefore, one person’s contribution will facilitate the continuation of hospital operations without disruption, ultimately contributing to the preservation of life and health of the great people of Akobo County.

Thank you for your better cooperation!!

Yours contribution is our community health!!
