Topic: Acute Exacerbation of Asthma
Pediatric asthma is a chronic inflammatory disease of the airways that occurs in infants, children, and adolescents. It causes recurrent episodes of wheezing, coughing, shortness of breath, and chest tightness due to narrowing of the airways. It is one of the most common chronic illnesses in childhood

Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this session, participants will be better able to:
1. Recognize early signs and symptoms of acute asthma exacerbation in children.
2. Assess the severity of asthma attacks using clinical parameters.
3. Initiate appropriate emergency management, including oxygen therapy and bronchodilators.
4. Administer systemic corticosteroids when indicated.
5. Identify children who require hospital admission or intensive care.
6. Educate caregivers about asthma action plans and trigger avoidance.
7. Implement strategies to prevent recurrent asthma exacerbations.
