ARE WE NUER SOCIETY CREATED IN THE IMAGE OF GOD OR DOG? 😭🤲 By Thontiop

One big and naked issue continues to trouble me: why do some individuals, who have failed or lost in their own communities, want to lead the Nuer? Oyet Nathaniel, Juol Nhomngek, Bol Deng Aruai, and the so-called G*i Mayen Luk: these people don’t have a single army on the frontline, yet they sit in their comfort zones and urge young, purely Nuer people to fight all 63 tribes. Our Nuer people don’t see anything wrong with this.

How were we created? Were we made in the image of God or in the image of a dog?

Hon. Oyet Nathaniel gives orders to Nuer generals to fight daily, yet he has no single Acholi on the frontline. What message does that send to the Nuer as a community?

Bol Deng Aruai, in a wheelchair, is barking day and night, pushing Nuer youth to fight without a single Bor youth supporting him. Juol Nhomngek, from Gok Arol Kacuol, a disowned cousin of liberator Daniel Awet Akot Thuou, has nothing to offer the Nuer generals even for their meals during operations, yet spends nights at his computer devising plans to push Nuer youth to die each day.

Then there's another crook, G*i Mayen Luk, who serves as a high-profile politician in the IO party, yet many of his relatives work in President Kiir’s government. His sister also works in the oil sector in a very lucrative position, and the government did not terminate her. Is this normal, or are we being set on a path to extinction in light of our country’s history? Let's think about this in terms of Nuer.

If I may ask my Nuer community again: is this incitement from the people I mentioned normal? Are these people pursuing some hidden agenda? As I write, Dr Riek and his wife, Angelina Teny, are in Juba, yet these individuals I mentioned are collecting funds on behalf of the SPLA-IO party. They do not use this money to support the party; instead, they use it to enrich themselves and their families, and my Nuer community remains blind to see this unfolding situation clearly.

Mark my words: these people are pursuing something I cannot fully understand in this chaotic moment. But you will realise it later once you find your country depleted. You will also know it when these individuals return to their tribes after advancing their agenda.
