👨🏻 Men’s health often receives less targeted attention, despite consistently worse outcomes across many countries.

❤️‍🩹 Men face higher risks of premature death and disability from preventable diseases and injuries, many of which are avoidable.

*Key concerns:*

🔹 Men are more likely to die early from noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) such as heart disease, cancer, and diabetes.

🔹 Men’s life expectancy is shorter than women’s in nearly every country.

🔹 Men have higher rates of smoking, unhealthy diets, alcohol use, injuries, and interpersonal violence.

🔹 Men visit doctors less often and report more unmet health-care needs.

*Take charge of your health:*

🩺 Get regular check-ups, early detection saves lives.
🚭 Quit to***co and limit alcohol use.
🏃 Stay active and maintain a balanced diet.
🧠 Talk about mental health and seek support when needed.

Good health starts with small steps, take yours this month.

❣️That's what every child's right ❣️
But the questions is How are we going to achieve that, with devastating health system in place 🙃

Every child deserves safe, quality healthcare from the very start.

On 17 September – World Patient Safety Day, we stand with the World Health Organization’s campaign: Patient Safety for Every Newborn and Every Child.

Join us in raising awareness, supporting health workers, and strengthening systems so that no child is harmed while receiving care. Together, let’s make a reality in South Sudan and across the world.

When it comes to protecting your brain, two simple nutrients stand out: vitamin D and magnesium. Research shows that taking them together can help reduce symptoms of depression and slow down the process of brain aging.

Vitamin D is often called the “sunshine vitamin” because our bodies make it when exposed to sunlight. It plays a key role in regulating mood and supporting brain cell growth. Low levels of vitamin D have been linked to higher risks of depression, anxiety, and cognitive decline.

Magnesium, on the other hand, acts like a calming mineral for the nervous system. It helps regulate neurotransmitters, improves sleep quality, and reduces stress. Without enough magnesium, the brain struggles to manage signals effectively, leading to fatigue, low mood, and poor focus.

Together, vitamin D and magnesium create a powerful synergy. Magnesium helps activate vitamin D in the body, making it more effective. This partnership improves brain function, lifts mood, and offers protection against age-related disorders like memory loss and Alzheimer’s disease.

The good news is that these nutrients are easy to get. Vitamin D comes from sunlight, fatty fish, and fortified foods. Magnesium is abundant in leafy greens, nuts, seeds, and whole grains. Supplements are also widely available when diet alone isn’t enough.

Supporting your brain doesn’t always require complex treatments. Sometimes it starts with simple daily habits that fuel both body and mind. Vitamin D and magnesium might just be the natural boost your brain has been waiting for.

Many people start their day with coffee believing it gives them energy. But science shows caffeine doesn’t actually fuel the brain, it simply delays the feeling of fatigue. The boost you feel is not real energy, it’s borrowed time.

Here’s how it works. Your brain produces a chemical called adenosine throughout the day. Adenosine builds up and makes you feel tired, signaling it’s time to rest. Caffeine blocks adenosine from binding to its receptors, tricking the brain into feeling alert and awake. But the adenosine doesn’t go away, it keeps building in the background. Once the caffeine wears off, the floodgates open, and the crash hits hard.

This is why caffeine can create cycles of dependency. You feel awake for a few hours, then more tired than before, leading you to reach for another cup. Over time, this disrupts natural sleep patterns, weakens recovery, and can even increase anxiety.

That doesn’t mean caffeine is all bad. In moderation, it sharpens focus, enhances reaction time, and improves mood. But relying on it as your main source of “energy” can backfire. True energy comes from quality sleep, balanced nutrition, hydration, and regular movement, not just coffee.

The takeaway is simple: caffeine can mask fatigue, but it cannot replace rest. Use it wisely as a tool, not a crutch. Your brain deserves more than a temporary trick, it deserves real fuel to perform at its best.

🚨 Game-Changing Medical Milestone
A revolutionary mRNA-based lung cancer vaccine — BNT116 — has officially entered clinical trials across 7 countries, including the UK, US, and Germany. 🌍💉

🧬 Developed by BioNTech (the team behind the COVID-19 vaccine), BNT116 is designed to train the immune system to identify and destroy lung cancer cells, using the same powerful mRNA technology that changed the game during the pandemic.

👨‍⚕️ The first patient, a 67-year-old man in London, has already received the vaccine — marking a bold step toward personalized cancer immunotherapy.

📊 With a target of 10,000 patients by 2030, this trial could reshape how we fight cancer — moving from treatment to targeted immune training.

💥 This isn’t a dream — it’s happening now.
🔬 Science is rewriting the future of cancer care.

In Brazil, a groundbreaking medical milestone has emerged after 25 years of research. Scientist Tatiana Coelho de Sampaio and her team at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro have developed polylaminin, the first drug in the world derived from placental laminin protein that claims to regenerate spinal cord injuries. The treatment, created in partnership with Cristália laboratory, is injected directly into the spine. Early trials on patients with paraplegia and quadriplegia due to spinal cord ruptures showed extraordinary results — with reports of full recovery and regained movement without lasting side effects.

If confirmed, this breakthrough could transform millions of lives worldwide, giving new hope to spinal injury patients who have long been told recovery is impossible. While peer-reviewed studies and regulatory approvals are still awaited, the discovery is already being hailed as one of the most promising advances in modern medicine.

In another leap for diabetes treatment, doctors successfully enabled a diabetic patient to produce his own insulin again through gene-edited cell transplantation.
The therapy involves editing stem cells to function like pancreatic beta cells, then implanting them into the patient. Once active, these cells release insulin naturally in response to blood sugar levels, effectively curing the disease at its root.
Unlike insulin injections or pumps, this approach restores the body’s natural regulation system. Early trials show patients maintaining healthy glucose levels without medication, marking a turning point in diabetes care.
This success story demonstrates how gene editing could provide a permanent solution for millions living with diabetes, ending decades of dependence on synthetic treatments.

Chinese scientists have developed a breakthrough adhesive that can heal bone fractures in only three minutes. The material, nicknamed bone glue, works by forming a strong chemical bond with bone tissue. Researchers at Tsinghua University reported that the glue not only closes fractures quickly but also promotes natural bone regeneration. Traditional treatments often require weeks of immobilization, but this innovation could significantly reduce recovery times for patients with serious bone injuries. The findings, published in the journal Advanced Functional Materials, open new possibilities for emergency medicine, orthopedic surgery, and battlefield care.
