As part of the opening ceremony of the 18th Scientific Conference of Faculty of Medicine, Tishreen University, the President of the University, Dr. Bassam Hassan, Secretary of the University, Dr. Mirna Dalalah, and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Mustafa Ibrahim, honored the physician researchers.
Tishreen University expressed its thanks and gratitude for the scientific efforts made by researchers to publish scientific research in international refereed journals. Among the honored physicians, Dr. Naya Talal Hassan (Master Degree student in Dermatology and Sexually Transmitted Diseases). She was chosen to be honored because she has published several research papers in international journals, the number of which is 8 published articles so far, and many are still under review. These types of research vary (case report, cross sectional studies, cohort studies, literature reviews).
We met Dr. to talk about one of her researches, as she said: The research was about a rare case of non-Hodgkin lymphoma in two sisters, and it was published in cooperation with the Cancer Research Center at Tishreen University CRCTU in the BMC Journal of the International Publisher Springer Nature under the supervision of Prof. Zuheir Al-Shehabi, Director of the Cancer Research Center. And other research on many cancer and skin diseases, the latest of which is a global cohort study on COVID-19 in patients who have undergone surgery. Dr. Naya concluded said: Scientific research is very necessary, and we must not only be consumers of science, but we must contribute to it and add to it. Without scientific research, medicine would not have developed to the point we have reached. Every medical practitioner should have a good knowledge of the principles of scientific research. It is worth noting that Dr. Naya in addition to publishing medical research, is also a reviewer in several international journals.
