We are proud to announce that Maxcia Williams and Keshawnna Garland, the only two International Behavior Therapists from Turks and Caicos, attended the Black Association for Behavior Analysts (BABA) Convention in Montego Bay, Jamaica, from September 18-20.
After submitting papers with her team from the Caribbean Association for Behavior Analysis (CABA), Maxcia was selected as a speaker for BABA’s first International Convention, themed “Reclaiming Our Vibes.” She presented on two personal and experienced topics: “Creating Meaningful Changes with Low Intensity Services” and “Supervision in the Caribbean.”
Maxcia was the first Registered Behavior Technician (BACB) and International Behavior Therapist (IBAO) in the Turks and Caicos Islands. She is also Keshawnna’s supervisor; Keshawnna became the second International Behavior Therapist in the Turks and Caicos Islands in May of this year. Maxcia and Keshawnna work closely at The Elephant Rooms, providing ethical, high-quality, value-based, and culturally responsive ABA services to children with autism spectrum disorder and other related challenges.
