3 natural ways to whiten your teeth
Over time, our teeth tend to turn yellow and form small stains. Unattractive rather than embarrassing, this is caused by poor oral hygiene, certain foods such as coffee, tea, overly sweet cakes or even ci******es for smokers. No need to panic! It is quite possible to get whiter teeth without having to constantly make an appointment with the dentist. Nevertheless, forget about abrasive chemicals and discover our 3 natural ways to whiten your teeth at home.
Vegetable charcoal
Vegetable charcoal is an extremely fashionable teeth whitening product. Many influencers are advertising it and touting its benefits on your teeth. If toothpastes containing charcoal are sold in stores, it is preferable to buy powdered charcoal and prepare it yourself.
Produced from the carbonization of poplar trees or coconuts, this charcoal is 100% vegetable and will have no harmful effects on your health. Charcoal is considered as a natural medicine, it can be used in case of heartburn or diarrhea. In India, it has been used for thousands of years to whiten teeth thanks to its effect of absorbing dental plaque and all other substances that deteriorate the color of our teeth. So, why don't you try it?
Several techniques exist to whiten your teeth with vegetable coal. Add charcoal powder directly to your toothpaste and brush your teeth for quicker results. Then, brush your teeth again with a normal toothpaste to remove all the residue. However, for a more visible result, it is recommended to mix the charcoal powder with water and brush your teeth with it. Once you have darkened your teeth, rinse your mouth several times and brush your teeth with toothpaste. If you prefer, you can apply this mixture to each tooth with a cotton swab. Repeat this action only twice a week.
Baking soda
The good thing about baking soda is that it's easy to get hold of and it's available everywhere. It was already used at the time of the Pharaohs to make its toilet or to mummify the cops. Bicarbonate was also attributed health and beauty virtues. It is recognized to solve the evils due to a bad digestion or to decrease the inflammations. On the beauty side, it is the best ally of our mouth by whitening our teeth, reducing bad breath and disinfecting.
Unlike charcoal, bicarbonate will not really whiten our teeth. It will remove stains and especially tartar from your teeth, which will automatically make them whiter and smoother. It is considered a natural descaler! Little more, it will prevent the next appearance of stains.
Put a teaspoon of baking soda in warm water and rinse your mouth once every two days. Rinse your mouth with clear water after your mouthwash. For more effect, add a little fresh lemon juice to your preparation. The Vitamin C in lemon will help your teeth shine and clean your gums. More radical, but to be done once a week, dip your toothbrush in the bicarbonate powder and gently brush your teeth. So that it is not too abrasive, brush your teeth again with your toothpaste.
Coconut oil
While coconut oil is known for its benefits to our hair and skin, it is not well known as a remedy for bad breath and especially yellowed teeth. The coconut oil mouthwash, called "oil pulling", is a practice of traditional Indian medicine (Ayurveda) to have white teeth. You can't get more natural than this!
Vegetable oils are preferred for this whitening technique. The Indians used coconut and sesame oil for their pleasant taste, but other oils can work. Once liquefied in your mouth, coconut oil will work against bacteria and viruses due to its high lauric acid content.
Take a tablespoon of oil in your mouth and swish the liquid back and forth between your teeth with your tongue. It is very fatty and will spread easily. Keep the liquid in your mouth for at least 10 minutes if possible. Spit it out and brush your teeth normally. You can repeat the operation every day if needed.
