My answer: “ The most Handsome doctor in Huahin” hahahaha that must be the best joke ever…
True story: A refugee boy from Maynamar who has become a doctor in Thailand through a very long journey.
Many of you have asked me about my story, here is the story.
Dr. Mowae or (Dr.Mo) is an ethnic Karen young man (Karen are a group of Hill tribes who lives between Thailand and Myanmar). During his early childhood the Karen community was heavily suppressed by the Burmese dictatorial military regime and many families had to flee to Thailand for survival. His village was burned to the ground and many villagers were killed during the conflict between military and the villagers back in 1997. All Karen in Dawei area have to come across the border and refuge in Thailand. This conflict has been existing more than 70 years and still on going today.
Dr. Mo and his family crossed the border to Thailand where they started a new life in Thamhin Refugee Camp Tham Hin Camp in Ratchaburi. With limited future as a refugee he find his way to the local village in Kanchanaburi to start his education.
By the Grace of God Dr. Mo met MoMo Cat, a missionary from New Zealand who started an orphanage or a refuge center known as Bamboo School in Kanchanaburi province. He met a retired anesthesiologist (Dr.Max Hammonds)who willing to sponsor him through his education.
Dr.Mo Speaking no Thai and with limited schooling in the Camp at the age of 14 he was too old for regular school so he had to learn his Thai at the temple and going through a non-formal Education program until he finished high school and later obtaining Thai nationality after being in Thailand more than 12 years.
Dr.Mo was an excellent student and after an accelerated career through high school he attended the Asian Pacific International University in Saraburi, graduating with honours as a Bachelor in Bioscience.
As a bioscientist he undertook research in the field of microbiology, specialising in gene isolation in food-poisoning bacteria. However, his real passion was to become a medical doctor, so he went to the Philippines where he subsequently graduated as Medical Doctor at the Emilio Aguinaldo College School of Medicine in Manila.
Returning to Thailand, Dr. Mo obtained his full accreditation as Thai medical practitioner after an internship at the Lerdsin hospital, Bangkok. Prior to joining Be Well, Dr. Mo worked as OPD General Practitioner in a range of private hospitals including Petcharavej Hospital, Navamin 9 hospital and Kasemrad Ramkamheang hospital, during which time he also undertook various courses to prepare for the position of Family Doctor. In 2022, Dr. Mo did a traineeship in primary care cardiology at the Cardiology Center Netherlands, in Utrecht.
