The Kayan long neck village is located 30km outside of Mae Hong Son, a Thai city close to the border of Myanmar. Around 200 long neck tribe people live in this community.

The village is accessible only by boat, as it is surrounded by a river.

The Kayan people live simply by making and selling handicrafts, growing and harvesting fruit and vegetables, and utilizing solar power for their energy needs.

Religious beliefs range from Catholic and Baptist Christian to Buddhism and Animism.

The community was started by refugees from Myanmar around 23 years ago. Thailand is still yet to recognize the Kayan people as citizens.

Hua Chang waterfall is located behind the Moon Village deep in the jungle on the outskirts of Pai. Amazing nature, beautiful wild fruits and butterflies all colors of the rainbow.

Hey everybody!

It’s been a year since our last update! In 2016 the SOMA community is together again, plus some new additions. This year the restaurant is closed, and instead we are each focusing on individual creative projects.

We are living simply and comfortably in the outstanding natural beauty of Pai, Northern Thailand. We survived a long, hot dry season - now rainy season is coming, and we look forward to cooler temperatures, epic thunderstorms and lots of delicious tropical fruit.

Spring has come!!!

Soma Musica Ambience started a new project - Soma Camp!
This spring and summer is planned to organize several camps in different parts of world - Thailand, Cambodia, China and Nepal.

First place amazing island Koh Rong in Cambodia. Great time with friends, blue water and white sand. Endless Long beach we miss you so much!
