Ramadan is just around the corner! 🌙⭐️Here are my tips for ensuring you feel well in the workplace throughout the month:1. Remember to keep up the breaks - even when you are not getting up to get a coffee or lunch, make sure you regularly get up from your desk and move your body.2. Prioritise: working hours are shorter, so set your top 3 must-do objectives in the morning. If you have time once those are done, work on can-do objectives and a would-like-to-do objective.3. Meetings: plan meetings between 10am and 1pm when everyone’s energy levels are still up. Avoid early-morning meetings (showing consideration for colleagues who are not morning-people and parents) and afternoon-meetings (energy-levels are starting to drop).4. Kindness: it’s the month of good deeds, so think of how you can show kindness together (e.g. charity box, Iftar-treats or helping other colleagues)➡️ Is there something you would add? Please share in the comments below. Like, share or tag someone who might benefit.Happy Ramadan! ⭐️🌙🩷💚

What factors play a role in impacting our well-being at work?

A research group at Tampere University and Tampere University of Applied Sciences in Finland have developed a model of the following factors:

- The Organisation: the structure, ways of working, culture, HR practices, and opportunities for skill and career development all have an impact on our wellbeing at work.

- The Individual: the responsibility for our own mental and physical wellbeing lies in our hands, but is also impacted by our psychological capital, our existing skills and work experience, our recovery needs, and our personality traits. Everyone experiences stressors differently and has their own needs to manage their well-being.

- The work community: as a collective, the work community can be an important source of support. A positive atmosphere and effective conflict management are key. Needs vary according to the working model: are we working together in the office or remotely?

- The Job itself: are my job role and tasks clearly defined? What is the pace like (are we always busy)? Do I have clear objectives to work towards? Do I have autonomy in how I do my job? Is there a possibility of job crafting?

- Leadership: research shows that servant leadership and positive leadership styles best promote wellbeing at work. The style of leadership can greatly impact how employees perceive conditions at work.

➡️ What thoughts do these factors prompt? Which factor do you think needs most attention in your workplace right now? Comment below.

After our first series on goals, now it's time for us to get into the wonderful world of well-being at work.

We start with some examples of what constitutes the basics of a healthy workplace:

💻 A clean and adequately equipped workplace

🫂 A work community where everyone is respected

📄 Clear rules and transparent communications.

🏠 Respect for employees' private life and right to rest.

📝 Decent working conditions

Next, we will explore what other factors impact the above.

➡️ What thoughts does this evoke? Do you agree? Is something missing?

This video is late, but comes at the right time. I’ve been living by this message for the past week and a bit, as I’ve been recovering from a nasty cold.We are still talking strategy, but with an eye on when things don’t go as planned.
How can we maintain focus and motivation and not put ourselves down?

💙 Self-compassion: be kind and understanding with yourself. You are doing enough. Speak kindly to yourself.

💙 Focus on self-care: when you feel stuck, focus on your well-being. Try at least to do something good for yourself. The other goals can wait. They need you to be in good health first.

💙 Energy-levels: we don’t run on high energy every day. We run on the energy we have and on that particular day that is your 100% (even though compared to yesterday, it may be 20%). You’ve done enough.

💙 Focus on what you can control: don’t lose energy fretting over things you cannot control. Rather take action where you can. The rest will happen when the time is right. What I don’t mention in the video, but which is equally important: don’t compare yourself to anyone! Do your own thing and progress at your own pace. This is not a competition.

We continue to advance on our roadmap that will lead us to our vision. In today’s video, I’m telling you about how to further refine your strategy and identify what you should be focusing on.

💙 Life domains: here, I split them in career, finance, health & fitness, self-care, family, relationship, spiritual/faith and environment. This is individual, so I suggest you do some research and see which categories fit your life situation best.

💙 Life values: here, I suggest myself, friends & family, leisure interests and career. Again, feel free to research to find what works best for you.

💙 Tracking for easy, low-threshold goals to add to your motivation.

💙 Quick wins: what can you get done quickly to boost motivation and visualise progress.I hope these are helpful as you create your strategy for the beginning of the year.

Happy Friday!

After learning and starting to ponder about our mission and 2025 vision, it is time to get down to the more practical nitty-gritty: your strategy.

How will you achieve your vision?

Design your own roadmap, noting down what you must do or stop doing in order to move towards your vision. It should be simple to put into practice, meaning you should be able to do something everyday. Consistency is key.

Note down your steps for each of your life areas to get started. Remember, your roadmap will change over the course of the year, so keep a flexible and open mind.

➡️ Tell us in the comments below what thoughts this video provoked? Do you have questions?

➡️ Please tag someone who could benefit from these tips and feel free to share.

Let’s get started and get those goals put together!

Not sure where to start? Then come along as I guide you through goal setting throughout January.

The first part is creating a vision and mission for yourself.

1. Mission: the big existential question - what do you want your legacy to be. Dare to dream.

2. Vision: where do you see yourself within a specific timeframe (for our purposes 31.12.2025)? Make it inspiring!

The idea here is to start letting your imagination flow. Nothing is set in stone and you do not need to have all the answers now. Plant the seed today and you can create and adjust as you go along.

This exercise can seem a bit daunting at first, but you’ll notice that after some time, ideas will start popping up at random moments of the day. Hold on them, note them down and start creating.

➡️ I’d love to hear your thoughts and questions. Please share them below.

➡️ If this resonates with you or if you know someone who could benefit from this exercise, tag them below or share this video.

Happy happy 2025! 🥳🥳🥳

I want to start this year by introducing you to my “material” that helps me keep track of my objectives. I know, I know…it’s a lot, but I haven’t quite found the right format yet to have all-in-one. 😅

In any case, this is what works for ME - something far simpler may work for you. Perhaps you prefer to have everything digital. I prefer to use pen and paper. The point is, find what works for you and adjust along the way. That’s the mantra for everything else that follows.

1. Plastic folder: here I keep my cloud diagrams/overviews of my objectives. I like to use white sheets of paper to draw cloud diagrams to help me better see the forest for the trees and not get lost in the nitty gritty.

2. Notebook: I’ve had this for a few years already and it looks the part. I use this to note down all career-related ideas. Anything that springs to mind from contacts to business goals in the far future, I note them down in here.

3. Diary: I try to find time to journal specifically with regards to my goals (also because journalling is good for you). This helps me to see progress over the period of one year.

4. Random notebook: this one is a sort of “miscellaneous” notebook where I e.g. note down monthly tasks that are not annual goal related, but those sorts of general things that you want to get out of the way (bringing clothes to charity or washing garden furniture or cleaning windows…). I also track 30-day challenges (more on that later) or note down micro actions for some goals or more details as to what a specific goal means to me in practice. That way, I have these random bits of information noted down somewhere that I can then transfer to my journal at the appropriate time.

What is not featured here is my agenda/journal where I track down the day to day. It hasn’t arrived in the post yet.

Perhaps this year, I’ll find a way to merge them…if not into one then perhaps 2 LOL. 📚

I’d be happy to hear your suggestions - share in the comments how you like to organise your tasks. Please remember, there is no one correct way to do this. To each their own.

Happy, healthy, prosperous New Year 2025! 🥳🥳

It’s the end of another year and as we bid it farewell tonight, let’s reflect back on a few things:

1 - what went well this year? What brought you joy?
2 - what did you learn this year?
3 - what do you want to do more of / less of / stop doing in the new year?

As of January, we’ll be tackling those famous New Year’s resolutions and I’ll show you the techniques I applied this year to help me stay motivated and progress really well on most of my goals. Stay tuned!

We are nearing the end of the year, and it's a time when many of us decide to take some time off work. Especially with NYE being a Tuesday, taking Monday and Tuesday off (or why not Thursday and Friday) are ideal to recharge your batteries a bit.

Remember, you do not need to finish everything. You will not solve the world's or your organisation's problems before the end of the year.

Instead of trying to tackle a huge to-do-list before your leave, slow down. Do what is absolutely urgent and important, and then slowly ease into your well-deserved holiday. Leave the office early if you can, instead of burning all of your energy on the last day.

That allows you to enjoy your leave from day one, instead of spending it in recovery-mode.

In this post, I've decided to share some tips (original post by the Finnish Institute for Occupational Health) on how you can recharge during your leave.

There are of course plenty more ways, and I'd love it if you could share them in the comments below. How will you recharge your batteries?

Please tag someone who may benefit from the content or share the post.

Wishing you all a relaxing end of year 💚
