Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure that aims to improve the size, shape, and characteristics of the nose, achieve consistency with facial features, or repair nasal deformities that affect its functions.
The operation requires general anesthesia and is performed in two different ways. They are open and closed nose surgery.
1. Open rhinoplasty
It is an effective procedure for complex nasal problems that involves making a short surgical incision in the lower front part separating the nostrils. Then the front nasal skin is lifted so that the surgeon can correct the cartilage or bones of the nose.
2. Closed rhinoplasty
Closed rhinoplasty is a good option for people who want a minimally invasive procedure. The operation requires limited access to the nasal structure and is performed through small incisions hidden inside the nostrils.
